1.87 Transitional Cut Diamond and Sapphire Deco Ring

I've enjoyed looking at all your beautiful jewelry and absorbing the collective knowledge of this forum, so I though I would add to the SMTB repository.

I purchased this ring at a b&m jewelry store after seeing it online. The center diamond is an estimated 1.87 8.0 x 7.99 VS2 M/N transitional cut with medium blue fluorescence. The setting is platinum with single cut accent diamonds and caliber cut sapphires. I had it resized and the prongs rebuilt by Kennon at Vermont Gem Labs when I was on vacation. He was wonderful and let me watch his whole process with laser welder, I highly recommend him if you're in the area. As a disclaimer, I have very large hands for a woman (thanks, dad), my ring size is ~9.5 (probably the largest ring size on PriceScope), and I have the summer swells right now, so look at the ring not my hands!

Yes, it is (as far as anyone can tell). It was explained to me that setting of this age and quality was hand forged, or, formed from a single piece of platinum that was compressed and tooled into the shape, which is what makes them so strong and long lasting versus die struck or cast settings.
