No no no, your chosen is gorgeous! I just had started a reply earlier in the day and hadn't seen your updates. I really do think old cuts need to be seen in person as light performance is just one aspect of their charm.

You’re so good! I do adore it, it’s an opportunity I usually wouldn’t have. Selling my others has allowed for it. Even then I think I’m getting a very good deal and the ginger presence is amazing! It sparkles so much!!
A similar one with the same specs elsewhere is €4000 more!

The centre is fiery and no real visible culet! There’s two tiny spots that flare dark at the same time, but they’re small. One of centre and one near a prong

Actually I thought a culet was the hole in the middle....I think I’m wrong!

It is the tip of the bottom of the "point" on a diamond cut straight across and looks like a hole in the center. I think you're right. What pretty rings!

I like both but prefer the slightly larger stone. That stone reminds me of my old mine cushion. It is a bit wonky, probably a little leaky (most true antiques are a little imperfect but charming IMHO). It will probably be a colorful firestorm under low-light conditions. I enjoy a modern bright cut e-ring and my old wonky stone, depending on mood.

If it were me, I would opt for coverage

I actually asked him to size both for me today as I went back over my initial decision and started thinking about the bigger stone again, he’s very good and is doing that for me. The fact I can return for an upgrade is also very reassuring, I can see myself going bigger as I get older!

If you like the larger more, go for it. This may sound enabling (lol, we're PSers, we DO that for each other) but if you get the smaller and kick yourself in the butt later...no good.

See if you can see it under low light conditions too.
