I just found this site (and not a day too soon). I am looking to buy my GF a pair of stud earrings for xmas. My $ range is a grand so we aren’t talking very big stones here. She has no idea I’m doing this and over the last couple of months I’ve gotten out of her she isn’t really into round cut because she says they are too traditional, so she has mentioned princess. Now I am looking at between .5 ct and .75 ct tw in that range and all of the reputable jewelers in my town (not mall stores) say that size is too small for any certified diamonds. Is this a load of BS? What is the truth surrounding certification and size? Should I just keep searching until I find someone w/ certified in my price/size range.
One of these jewelers has a pair of .71 tw pears shapes G-H, VS2 that they will sell me for $1000. What else should I ask to find out of this is a good deal. They are the first pair of pears I’ve seen and are kind of different. I thinks she might like tthem???
Any advice so that I can make an informed choice would be beyond helpful
