22 days and still no dress

I think I''m getting panicky that I still don''t have my dress and the wedding is in just over 3 weeks. We leave for the beach in 2 weeks exactly. It was supposed to have shipped last week. Now if it comes in and does not fit correctly, I don''t think I will have time to get it fixed. The dress lady is saying it will ship Monday--which is a holiday so I think really, she means Tuesday. I will have it Friday, 1 week before we leave. If it doesn''t fit again, I am pretty sure I''ll be SOL.

Can I get a little dust and a prayer please? Or if anyone wants to talk me off the edge that would help too.

I would really like to not have to walk down the aisle naked. On another note, my Chinese wedding dress is with my wedding dress, so there goes plan B. Hum...should I be running around screaming and pulling my hair out? I think I''m getting close....could really use some good news for a change

Is your dress being custom made? Otherwise I would count on needing some alterations, and would probably go ahead and make an appointment for ASAP after you think you will have the dress, and explain to them the kind of turnaround you will need. Good luck!

You know, I think it will be all right!

Plan for contingencies - look for good alterationists (locally and onsite) who can do fast turnaround work (even if for a fee), make sure that you have all the emergency supplies for the day - tape, double-sided tape, needles, thread, etc. Even if someone has to sew you into your dress on the day a la a fashion show, so be it!

You have been through such hard times lately. This is not like that, it will be manageable. Hugs to you.

Make an appt now with a local seamstress and explain the situation. They can do incredible turnaround if pressed and willing; also getting the info for an alterations person at your venue is a good idea. I''d be most concerned about your dress actually shipping this coming Tuesday! Please harass them and see if they can ship it faster (on their dime, assuming they are late delivering it)
