Welll, I think I found the one! Today was the first dress shopping trip and I fell in love with the 2nd dress I tried on! Its the Casablanca 1831 in Ivory. The pictures don''t do it justice, the fabirc is gorgeous and it has such subtle beading! I''m in love! I am also going to get the dress fitted a bit more at the hips to give me more of an hourglass figure.

I have been exploring the options of different colored shoes! I have seen some ladies colored shoes here and gives the dress a little pizzaz and funk. Our wedding colors are going to be eggplant and celery green. The wedding is March 21, 2009.

Any suggestions? I would prefer at least a 3 inch but am open to higher, fiance is 6''4" and I do well with high heels.

Thanks

Now for the dress pics....

Pic 1... please excuse the looks on my face. It was a long day, I was tired, and my hair is a wreck from all the dresses! lol I guess that is the price we brides have to pay!

Also, the dress is a bit big in the bust area, so it looks wider than it is.

#3 and last one... any great shoe suggestions would be fab!

Gorgeous!! What about red? Neatfreak had a similar (if not the same) dress and I think she wore red shoes. I could be totally making that up, but she posted pics from her wedding and they are gorgeous!

Karasue... I thought about red, but my colors are eggplant and celery green. Do you think the shoes need to match? I don''t want to clash.... I also thought about blue shoes (a lot of ladies have been doing that on here and I LOVE LOVE it!)

For example, here are 2 David''s Bridal shoes to show the wedding colors. Would these be too out there as shoe colors? Would you recommend sticking with something more classic? Is it too matchy with the wedding colors?

The green shoes....

The purple shoes...

I also love these shoes on Zappos, sticking with a traditional ivory

I don''t think the shoes need to go with your wedding colors. No one will see them unless you lift up your dress, you should just wear some shoes that you love! If you love them you''ll want to show them off and that will make your day that much more fun!!

I do love those shoes from Zappos, and the ones from David''s are a cute knockoff of Manolos.

Your wedding is pretty far away, maybe just keep your eye out for shoes you love over the next year or so....I found mine on Ebay, they were $250 shoes and I got them for $47!! Maybe this could be an excuse to splurge a little, I am such a huge fan of Ebay and they have all kinds of Manolos, Louboutins, Jimmy Choos, etc and most of them are brand new! haha I sound like I work there, but i''m just such a huge fan!!

Also wanted to say tht I LOVE the d''orsay style shoes (the heel cup). They are so much more comfortable than slingbacks or straps around the ankle for wearing all day!

I wore those coloriffics during the ceremony for my wedding (though the heel was higher, it was 3.75") and I dyed them peacock blue. They were surprisingly comfy. I also agree that you can wear shoes in whatever color you love. I had this whole fall theme with cranberry and orange colors, but I was going to have the brightest "something blue" shoes I could get even if they didn't quite go with the color scheme.

I absolutely love the dress, by the way! It's great!

Here''s a pic of the dyed coloriffics, they really dyed well.

wow I love that blue and the higher heel height!!! Did you dye them yourselves or have a bridal salon do them?

I just went to a shoe repair shop--they had about a million shades of blue to choose from. The shoes come with some test strips of satin, so I chose several shades of blue, they did a test of all the shades on the sample strips and I chose which shade I liked based on that. It was all done within a few days and cost about $20.

Also, where did you get the Coloriffics Desire in the 3.75 inch heel? I have only seen 3.25 inches and would love a little bit more height! I am a high heel girl and FI is 6''4".

Wow! You look incredible!!! I absolutely love it and I LOVE the idea of colored shoes!!!! Can I just make a suggestion without hurting feelings??? Are you sure you want to "lock down" your dress so far in advance??? This suggestion has NOTHING to do with me thinking that you don''t look fabulous.... only that you have the luxury of taking your time. It would be awful to second guess yourself... or find something in 6 months that you love even more, and then have to go through the daunting task of trying to sell it and not recovering all of your money. The Casablance will still be there 6-8 months prior to your wedding (this is the time frame I was given to order my dress before the wedding) and if you end up going with it there will be no doubts!! Just my two cents! Good Luck!

I like that Casablanca dress very much. I think it us such a pretty choice.

I also LOVE the idea of your shoes matching your wedding colors. The egg plant or green shoes are both very neat/unexpected, but still pretty.

Brazen Irish Hussy! I LOVE the shoes you suggested, especially these! The 4" heels are to die for...

As far as what I am looking for I would prefer not to go over $100, but hey if I love the shoe, its worth it. I am open to colors, like I said I think a colored shoe would look better if it went with my wedding colors purple and green, but I am deffinitely open... I think I am leaning towards more of a green shoe, but some of the purple jewel tones are so rich and beautiful. I would also prefer a heel height of 3.5 to 4 inch. I also like the idea of an ankle strap, keeps the shoe on will shaking my groove thang!

Thanks!

I do love nina shoes. I find them to be suprisingly comfortable for how tall they often are and have had good luck with them. I second the ankle strap on tall shoes as well, especially if you will be dancing. I love your dress, I think that neckline is so flattering and under used.

Sorry I''m tardy with this reply--I bought my shoes from shoebuy.com. I think they actually had the heel height listed at 3.25", but I''d read in the comments that it was wrong and that they were a half of an inch taller. I ordered them and measured the heel and it was in fact 3.75" high. I also bought a pair of 4" wedge flip flops for the reception.

Congrats on finding your dress! Its gorgeous!!... I''m partial though:) I ordered the same one! But with a customized neckline. I agree, this dress NEEDS fun colored shoes. I am looking for red, green or blue, whatever I come across that I like the best.
