2nd round of dress shopping!

I am absolutely in love with #1, other favorites are #3, 4, and 5. Although I wasn't crazy in love with 5 in the store, I really like the pictures of me in it!

Next weekend, its a trip with FMIL, and I am NOT looking forward to it at all! She has been really not nice and rather evil right now! Ugh.


ETA: I wanted to also say that many of you were right and the boobs in these dresses were huge! I could have added cantalopes into the dresses and then they might have fit. Oh well.

I like 3,4,9

Ok, I’m going to give why I do and don’t like the numbers…hope that is ok!


#1—you like the buttons! Sounds silly, but when you love a dress, you love every little detail and I think the shape with that empire/high waist makes you look longer and that is universally such a flattering spot on women, since it tends to be our smallest spot.


#2—I think the drop waist and then the pick-ups/layers at the bottom chop you up and make you look shorter than you are.


#3—I think the v-neck is so flattering, esp. on us larger chested gals. And again its hitting that sweet spot on you. Plus, it looks like it dips to your mid-back in a V-so pretty from that angle. And I love the delicate detailing.


#4—I love the back on you, but looking at the front again…I’m not sure.. I can’t tell if it’s a drop waist or not. If its not, then I think I like it more. Again, great details.


#5—I’m not a huge fan of halter wedding dresses, just a personal preference. I think the issue for me on this one, is all the detailing is on your bust, plus with the halter…you chest just ends up being the focal point to me.


#6—OK, looking back I may need to amend my up top statements. I really like this one. I think the scoop neck is again a lovely shape for the chest and it makes you look smaller than any of the other dresses. This may not be an issue to you at all, I just tend to always try to minimize my bust, so don’t let me project my issue onto you! I still love the clean lines and the neckline. This may sound bad, and I don’t mean it to, but it doesn’t look like a plus-size dress, it looks like a dress anyone could wear and I really like that.


#7—this is my least favorite. The drop waist and pleating makes you look a foot shorter. Though the back is stunning!


#8—I like this one. I think it is flattering and nice. I feel a little “eh” about it.


#9—I really like this one> I love the antique look and the sash shows off your smaller waist.


Ok, I just went back and you said the boob, area of the dresses were way too big on you. So I guess ignore me chest comments, since when it is your dress it won’t be that way.


Hope I didn’t offend or give too much feedback. Take it all with a huge grain of salt!

For having started out by "warning us there wasn''t much selection" you sure shocked me as the pictures of beautiful dresses just kept coming! You look beautiful in many of them. Are any a top contender right now? Any that you find yourself thinking about as you go about your day?

My favorite on you is definitely #4. I also liked #1 above and beyond the others. I also think you look particularly happy in these

I love 1, 7, and 8 and really like 9! Overall, I like almost all the dresses from this round much more than the dresses from round 1.

Personally, I love #4 to the point that I kept going back to look at it over and over again (sorry if that sounds creepy, haha, but it just looked beautiful on you!). The dress doesn''t have a defined waistline (or if it does, the lace pattern covers it), so you don''t have a line breaking you up anywhere--it just makes you look really tall and curvy in all the right places and amazing. It really defines your shape beautifully. #1 is also extremely flattering with the shape of it, but I personally don''t like the expanse of solid white from just below the bust to the very bottom of the dress--for me, it keeps my eyes from moving, you know? Like it''s just kinda blah in comparison to the rest of the dress, and it loses something for me. I adore the back of it, though! I wish number 3 wasn''t one of the ones with the huge boobs!!! I think that dress would''ve been really gorgeous on you if the chest weren''t so big on you that it made it hard to tell what it would look like properly fitted! The back of that one was definitely my favorite by a landslide! Anywho, wow, I''m longwinded, haha! I''m so glad that you got to try on some more stuff--you can see on your face how much more comfortable you felt this time around! Best of luck, particularly with going shopping with the FMIL!!!
 
#1 and #6 were my favs. LOVE #1 on you!

#4 is my favorite on you!!! Just an overall great look on you!
then I also like #5 (love the halter) and #2 - gives you a nice waist

#1 is good but I think you can do better (like #4)
#7 is nice
#8 is good if you want understated

#3 - just doesnt seem to do much for me but I cant put my finger on it
#6 - shows too much skin on top (more than the strapless I think)
#9 - is a definite no - looks like little bo peep dress IMHO

I love the style of #4 and #1 equally, but on you particularly, I think #4 is so beautiful and really highlights your figure nicely. I''m with doodle -- i kept coming back to look at that one because it was just so darn pretty!
 
They all look really nice on you but number 4 is my absolute favorite!

I love how the sweetheart neckline looks on you. I can''t tell if #4 has it but if it doesn''t definitely see if they can alter it for a sweetheart. I like #1 & #4, but #4 will move to favorite if it has a sweetheart.

Ladies - Thank you so very much for your replies and opinions! It looks like #4 is the most popular by a landslide! It is a fit and flare and I remember it stood out from the other lace gowns because the lace pattern is very vertical, increasing the lengthened feeling of the gown. I still absolutely love #1 too though! BTW

This Sat will be more shopping, and I hope to be able to just concentrate on the gowns and not what FMIL says. Fiance says he is going to try and tag along if his mother will allow it, and this is one dress trip I would not only allow it, but praying for! His gay best friend is working, otherwise he was going to come. I am seriously dreading it, especially after this past weekend. I honestly don''t have enough respect to even look her in the eye at this point. I am afraid if I open my mouth I will have nothing nice to say. I really am going to have to do some mental prepping for the trip. Sigh.

thing2of2 - If I find a Casablanca dress elsewhere that I decide I want to purchase, I can actually purchase it through Rubenesque to help support her specialty store, which I will totally do! Because there need to be more women like her in this world!

lliang_chi - it is a slight sweetheart but harder to see because there is also scalloped lace on the edge. Also making it more difficult is the fact my skin is as white as the dresses! Ugh.


And I will be getting my dress in ivory, no matter what style or designer it is. I simply cannot wear a white dress! My skin is too pale. Now, if I can figure out how to get rid of my permanent farmer tan, I would be happier!
 
No ugh about fair skin! Fair skin is absolutely gorgeous in wedding gowns!!!! Keep the sunscreen ON to get rid of the farmer tan. I love this lotion because it has sunscreen, alpha hydroxy, and it doesn''t make you feel all greasy! You might want to give it a try. I buy it at Long''s (which has recently turned into CVS.)

Still lovin number 1, btw.

Thanks House Cat! The problem with my farmer''s tan, is that I already have one, from last year. Its years and years on wearing mostly t-shirts and the occasional tank top during the summer. It never goes away. Now I will get more tan during the summer, more like pink and then it fades, or burnt. Because no matter how much sunscreen I use, I''m just ridiculously fair, and it doesn''t matter. So this summer, I may play around with self tanner, as I more or less refuse to fake tan at a salon or anything. Any recommendations for self tanner? Lol!
