Hello PS!

As a new PSer, I want to extend my very heartfelt thanks to all of you for sharing your knowledge, insight, experiences, pictures and gorgeous jewels. It is because of you (and my beloved DH!) that I have this beautiful 25th anniversary ring.

My story began last year when my DH surprised me with the idea of upgrading my original wedding set: 1.24 G VS2 MRB in a Tiffany setting with 1.25 ct half eternity band from Tiffany, both in yg. I love it to this day and never dreamed that we would upgrade. However, since he suggested.... ;)) That led to internet research which led to PS and you can fill in the blanks from there!! I found OECs and fell completely in love, decided that I would love to see the newly cut AVRs and contacted GOG (after watching a gazillion of their very educational videos!). Jonathan and David were terrific to work with, informative, funny and very patient with my newbie questions. My original request was simple (or so I thought!): please find me diamond just like Diamondseeker"s. Little did I know! (And DS, it remains one of my most favorites, my inspiration! ) However, they had just received this stone, perhaps known to you: a 3.21 K SI1 with a blush hue. My initial thought was that it would be too big and my sweet spot was really G-H, VS2, 2-2.5 ct-ish. HOWEVER!!! I fell in love, 'wore' it around the house for awhile (yes, lost it twice in the car oogling it during my son's soccer practice ;( ), and decided to go for it.

Then came the setting decision which was MUCH harder than deciding on the stone. In the long run and after much deliberation, I decided to go with Erika Winters' Grace setting. I wanted a classically elegant setting with a nod to the past, delicate milgrain and metal work, smallish donut so that I can stack with minimal gap... It is everything that I could have wished for! I debated the metal color, but decided to stay with yg as I lean toward warmer colors, and had the head made in platinum. Erika was wonderful to work with. She responded quickly, patiently and thoroughly to my questions and delivered the ring ahead of schedule. I hope the pictures capture her design, detail and workmanship because they are exquisite. I look forward to working with both GOG and Erika (sorry DH!) in the future!!

And a shout out to Martin Fuller Appraisals as well. Martin was a wealth of generously shared knowledge and I would happily return to him for future appraisal needs. His time was highly priced, but the information very valuable to a relative newbie like myself.

Ok, on to the good stuff! Again, thank you to PS and for letting me share!

Your rings are absolutely stunning - we now need some hand shots!

I do have one question though: you said the stone had a blush tone - is that blush like pink or did you mean blue? It's so interesting that I'm curious!

Laurenk, Iknvrby4, Missy, MissGotRocks, gregchang35, Alex T, picante27, Mayk, Sundial, Kathley, tyty333, _lovesvintage_, Bonfire, LLJsmom and daintyG - thank you so much for your lovely comments! I'm overwhelmed! I truly share this ring with such gratitude for all that you share here on PS and continue to be inspired by your gorgeous rings!

MissGotRocks - it has a blush like pink hue! When I was originally looking, I didn't think I wanted to go below an I color and hoped to stay on the whiter side vs. yellow. When Jonathan told me about this K and it's pinkish brown undertone I was too curious to pass on it. Irl it faces up white, definitely not icy, but a soft white. In some lighting conditions I can detect the palest blush shade, especially from the side, but with regular hand movement, I'm not sure that it's detectable. I love it and certainly didn't mind the extra size that came with the K! :twirl:

Alex T, picante27, Mayk, tyty333, _lovesvintage_, LLJsmom - Erika's pieces are even more beautiful irl!!! The details are executed to perfection, even under magnification. Her brushed finish is so elegant and light reflective. And the teeny, tiny milgrain is amazing. Modern stones would be beautiful in her settings as well, but I agree _LLJsmom_ - these settings are perfect for old cuts.

More pics to come when I get home today!!

Fabulous upgrade. Congrats!

Hi SapphireStyle, derbygal, canuk-gal, Wendylynne and ROL! I feel so very fortunate to be the keeper of this beautiful stone in its gorgeous setting; many thanks for your compliments!! Canuk-gal, I LOL when I read your message! It really explodes off my finger as well; its chunky, gorgeous flashes distract me to no end. I'm sure I'm like many in feeling that I can't quite capture its true beauty with the camera.

GORGEOUS! Love the holiday pictures - how stunning!!

Beautiful AVR + EW setting! :appl:

I think our stones were in Erika's IG shot together!!! How cool is that? Your stone is stupendously beautiful and of course the Grace setting is out of this world. I know what you mean about the teeny tiny mikgrain; I can barely see it WITH the loupe.
Congratulations on a gorgeous ring that is the total package

Been admiring that 3+c K for a while...you are a lucky girl! Your ring is gorgeous!
