OH--I''ve looked into Angelicas in Middleton (see brides stuff above LIW) and they do have a room for 75 ppl! You should check it out their prices are very reasonable, esp for the boston area!
 
Sorry about being slow on pics. My co-worker took a bunch yesterday in the office and they turned out pretty bad in the sunlight. This was the best one and she doctored the background a little. Please, please excuse the horrible condition of my hand- just came from outside, my nails aren''t done... I know. Not how a PSer should take pics! I''ve been a little crazy with other things!

Sorry it''s the only one. I took off my other rings for most of the pics, but of course the claddagh I can''t get off. I went to two different jewelry stores and they wanted like $30 to have the ring cut.

Yay!!! I''m so glad you finally got it.
BTW I broke my ring finger w/a ring on it while at work a couple of years ago. Now I wouldn''t recommend this but they cut my ring off with a pair of tin snips.

Of course it was swelling so fast that they didn''t have time to get me anywhere to do it.

I ran around the office like a dork yesterday looking for patches of sunlight because it is sooo brilliant in the sun. She tried to catch the fire and rainbows but it turned out like crap. We''ll try again tomorrow.

My mother is envious... She held out her hand to me last night and says "yours is dwarfing my tiny little thing..." She has a 1/4 marquise in her wedding set. That just made the fiendish child in me giggle.

How did you get the claddaugh off? Did they cut it? Will you have it repaired and still wear it? Questions, questions, questions......

Yep, I had to have it cut. I went into one of the jewelry stores in Downtown Crossing and they had the litte hand tool that can cut a band. They guy was amazed it never bothered me... the ring is a size 6 but my finger is now and 8 1/2. He''s only going to charge me like 10 bucks to have it re-molded. Now my e-ring sits where my finger is much smaller and it spins. Makes me more nervous of banging it on something. I don''t know what I''ll do with my claddagh since I wear silver on my right hand.

I''m getting more and more excited! This Saturday we go to look at a place for the ceremony/reception! I know it''s rare to luck out on the first venue but a girl can be hopeful!

I''m totally late to this thread since I was away on my honeymoon but I just wanted to give you my best wishes. You''ve been through so much and I feel like I''ve shared some of your pain as I read your posts so this is just the most wonderful news ever!!! The proposal story brought tears to my eyes--so thoughtful and sweet. And the ring is gorgeous! Enjoy being engaged before going into the crazy wedding planning stage. You deserve it.

Spent the weekend doing bride stuff!

I''m so excited! We found a place that we both liked and think we will reserve it! Then, we actually went in to David''s bridal, just so I could see how a couple of styles looked on me. They were NICE to me! WHOA!!!! I felt like a kid doing dress-up, so much fun! It felt good to be the one trying on the gowns this time instead of the 14 friends I''ve watched do it the past couple of years.

Major question for you all- have any of you heard of a place that will dye a wedding dress? (Bizarre I know, but I''m that kind of girl!)

Reminds me of Murials Wedding where she went to every shop and tried on every dress. Only YOU REALLY are getting married!!!!

I''m so glad you had fun. What color do you want to dye it. I''m sure you can find someone. Surely there have been brides with more ''bizarre'' requests. I think it would be okay, that way you can have your dream dress. Can''t wait to see what you select.

I''m giving myself about 2 weeks to call the 18 seamstresses I''ve located and find out if they will make the kind of dress I want. At the latest I have to hae a dress ordered by Mid-March or so. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed! last night my mother just realized what Oct 31 is, and she says to me, "amd this isn''t a joke? Are you sure people know that?" I said no, it''s not a joke and people I know think it''s the best. She says, "well, you can do whatever you want---" I cut her off and said yes, we can (with a smile).

Like I said before, my inner fiendish child is loving that fact that she has no say and it''s driving her nuts.
 
OMG!!! How did I miss this??? I have been following your story and I am so excited for you. I have just been waiting to see this kind of thread from you. You plan the perfect wedding for you and Ian (and try to keep that fiendish child inside from giggling out loud). Your proposal was very sweet and I really am so happy for you. Congrats!

More stuff to do tomorrow- we''ve decided on a venue, going to try to book it and then I have to visit a couple of seamstresses- I found 3 that may be able to make what I''m looking for- and for under 300 dollars!!!!!

AHHHHHHHHHH!!! I love love love that dress!!!!! I cant afford my dream dress either, but davids has beautiful dresses that are more affordable!!
