They looked at her teeth and estimated she's on the young side of a year old. As much as I was getting a little excited about the idea of kittens, I know it is for the best. Now another litter can find their forever home and Oreo will be an indoor cat with a long life ahead of her.

False pregnacies are funny it cats, they look and act pregnant, even showing all the symptoms for about a month. I must say though, I'd have loved the daily pics of mini-Oreo's.

But that's OK, pics of just Oreo as she is make me smile. I guess you know that she picked you for a reason. She could have bawled on any doorstep that night, she chose yours. Her instinct served her well, she has a great kitty-mom to call her own. And you get a little sweetheart in return. Not to own, it's the other way around.

Now where's our daily Oreo?

Thank you for the kind words and encouragement everyone! I will take some Oreo pictures today, her ID tags are ready to be picked up and I am getting her a breakaway collar, so maybe she will sit for a fashion photo shoot She was completely miserable and hiding after wearing the Cone of Shame, so we'll see.

She didn't wear it much. Oddly enough it seems for now she doesn't need it? No fussing with the stitches that I can see, but I'll keep the cone on standby just in case.

You can take an old tube sock and cut it and slide it over the stitches if she hates the cone and won't leave the stitches alone.

I resisted clicking on this thread until now. I am so happy this sweet kitty found a loving home. My sweetie is going on 17 years old, and I don't want to be reminded of that when I see a baby kitty. Oreo is the cutest name...

I resisted clicking on this thread until now. I am so happy this sweet kitty found a loving home. My sweetie is going on 17 years old, and I don't want to be reminded of that when I see a baby kitty. Oreo is the cutest name...

17 is extraordinary! I'll bet he or she has a wonderful life, but of course the thought of them leaving us soneday is extremely emotional. Thank you for venturing into this thread
