Her mane is actually a little matted (she needs a good brushing) because she tends to stick her whole head/chest in her water bowl when she drinks (she's the cat that had the mandibulectomy last year). We have since started putting her water in a margarita glass (I know, how festive since it's Cinco de Mayo) because it's easier for her to reach and therefore keeps her chest matt-free.

Daily Oreo is kind of funny. My weekend projects right now are sanding, painting, and refinishing old furniture. I was trying to measure and flip this table over but Oreo would. not. move.

Onto the kitchen!

ahahaha

so cute!

And hi Tinkie!

You can take an old tube sock and cut it and slide it over the stitches if she hates the cone and won't leave the stitches alone.

A sleeve from a t-shirt (maybe long sleeve) might also do the trick.

My mom used baby clothes. One of those cute little shirts with crotch snaps for the tough days (yeah... I know what they are called but can't spell the name tonight   ) when the stitches were the focus of kitty's attention.

I would LOVE to see a picture of Oreo in a cute little baby outfit

You should know better :nono:

That poster should read:

Whoever said diamonds are a girls best friend was never OWNED BY A CAT

Seriously though, I LOVE that poster

Re: A cat sat on my steps meowing to come in... Now what? (P

Sadly, cats (and dogs) do not live forever, whereas diamonds have much longer lives.

I know I would be very upset when it is time for my pets to leave this earth.

Re: A cat sat on my steps meowing to come in... Now what? (P

I was very grief-stricken when I lost my first cat to old age and a stroke. But I immediately adopted two cats from the local animal shelter. Two, so that they would have the companionship of one of their own species. That was 12 years ago. In retrospect, it was the best thing I could have done. First, my beloved cat was dead and gone, and there's no bringing one back from the dead. Second, there are many wonderful cats in shelters that need homes. Third, I honestly believe that my first cat would not have wanted me to just sit there sobbing. He would want me to be happy. The two new cats certainly did make me happy. So, that all worked out for everyone. Later I adopted a third cat. Then about 2 years ago, someone dumped one out here someplace and he decided this is his home now, so he is indoors now, cat #4. I love my cats. They are great companions. I presume they find me amusing, too. :D

Missing.... One Ore0..... :naughty: :naughty: :wavey:

Re: A cat sat on my steps meowing to come in... Now what? (P

This is cat #4, the one that someone dumped here. He had a big abscess on his face and then collapsed from severe anemia and had to get a blood transfusion. There is no such thing as a free cat, haha. But he is very healthy now.

These are baby pictures of the first three. (I didn't have any newer ones on this laptop.) The gray one declared himself Boss and Supreme Ruler. The orange tabby is HUGE now; he grew into those ears and paws. He can do a 6' vertical leap and snag wasps out of the air. Has paws like a catcher's mitt. The black one is the only female. Predictably, the males all hang around together and exclude her.

Well it is stinkbug season here once again, and Oreo is proving herself to be an avid hunter. Unfortuntaely she fell right into a full bathtub this morning chasing her prey

Here she is drying off.
(Gorgeous kitty pics above, thank you! )

I know I am late on this thread but I have to say that I absolutely love that you took care of Oreo when it was storming. Most people would not even think about letting a stray in, but you have been rewarded with a BEAUTIFUL and loving cat. It doesn't get better than that!

Please post more pictures, she has such gorgeous markings and eyes! :)

Handsome cat, Gypsy!

I call this expression "Put the damn camera away already!"
SO jokes that Oreo's nose actually has it's own mind. Anything she sniffs out her nose can do this weird contorting thing where her nostrils will feel around, or her nose will stretch to get a better angle. I have never seen anything like it

My cat is more of a frenemy! She pees IN my shoes, pukes on our new couch, tries to eat my jewelry... and will have the audacity to JUMP in my lap and then hiss at me if I try to pet her!

I do love the little thing though.

Re: A cat sat on my steps meowing to come in... Now what? (P

These sweet pics and stories are making me sad that I am allergic to cats. :-( They are too adorable!
