Since I had got the camera out to take some sphene pics, I thought I''d take some of my other rocks as well.

Here''s my 3.71ct Royal Rhodolite:

Here''s one that shows the amazing ultraviolet/blue flash that it does:

The stone is mainly a greenish yellow in daylight, but looks very orange in electric light. Here''s a shot where you can see the orange flash it has in daylight.

Last one - this is a bit blurry, but shows the great dispersion this stone has. It has a fair dose of andradite (demantoid) in it''s make-up which gives it this property, otherwise it''s mainly grossular.

Oh my gosh Pandora, I love them! I want to eat them!!!

Oh My Goodness, they are fantastic! I am just loving garnets more and more.

Ooooh a mali garnet, I haven''t seen many of those around here. I''ve heard they sparkle like crazy. And I LOVE the color of the rhodolite. I want one of my own someday.

I love them both, but I love the cut and sparkle of the mali garnet, the color in the different lights sounds unreal.

Love love love the first. If you ever decide it no longer suits you...

Do you have any plans to set them or they collection items?

Oh Pandora, those are beautiful stones. I LOVE that Mali garnet. Are you going to set that beautiful baby???

Nope - but he does live in my handbag in his box so I can get him out and play with him. He is my current favourite and I am very grateful to Richard at ArtCutGems for showing him to me! They''re pretty hard to get in that quality right now I believe.

He would look lovely in white metal with a teeny tiny halo, but I don''t really wear rings and he''d compete with my e-ring if I did. I also enjoy my stones far more loose than I do when they are set - weird I know but there we are!

The Royal Rhodolite is also from Richard.

Pandora,

I would play with them too. I had to giggle how you refer to them as "he". I call mine "she"

LOL, mine have different genders - Mr Mali is definitely a he, whereas Miss Kunzite is most definitely a she. They all have personalities.

LOVE the Rhodolite, those blue and pink flashes look delicious!

Gorgeous! I am particularly loving those richly colored emerald cuts right now. That rhodolite is exquisite.

The Mali garnet is incredible as well. The more color flashes the better, in my book.

Thanks for sharing the pictures of your beautiful stones.

ha ha ha ha ha, you are so funny Pandora.

Very pretty! I''d keep them in my purse and name them too! My e-ring diamond''s name is Jewel, and she''s a girl. She''s getting a make-over at WF right now (some diamond liposuction if you will) and will hopfully come back to me soon!

What fun! Thanks for posting those lovelies!

I love them both, and you''ve captured some amazing photos of them! I can never get such great shots of loose stones!

Oh Pandora! I''m all about garnets right now. Nice stones!

I picked up a rhodolite to begin, but I have oh so many to go! We just finished the garnet portion in class, and they are my favorite by far.

Show me more!

Very beautiful stones!

pandora- great photos! I loooove the blue flashes from that rhodolite, plus the Mali dispersion

fabulous stones!

And I also wanted to say that I am so glad that I am not the only one who carries my little rocks around in my purse. I like to check them out in every new light setting. My hubby thinks I am nuts, but now I can tell him I am not the only one

The rhodolite color is magnificent!
