@bright&shiny - I'm thinking of you constantly, praying for you repeatedly, sending the warmest, strongest, sisterhood-of-the-traveling-walkingstick vibes your way that I can.

Who you are outweighs the fears that feel debilitating, but which are, in truth, the smallest part of you - and you travel with love and lent strength surrounding and holding you, every step. Your intelligence and savvy attitude to what you want out of life in general, and this situation in particular, will carry you through this, out the other side, and home to the life you love. Looking forward to talking to you, propped up in a NON-hospital bed, surrounded by flowers, in one week's time. There's sunshine, and cuddles, and Christmas, and the massive reduction of stress that comes with being through this procedure waiting for you, *just* on the other side of it. Keep your eyes fixed on those things and walk towards them with all the grit and one-eyed doggedness** that I know you have. You are one gutsy woman and you will walk this path with grace, determination, and more humor than it warrants.

So the lovely, kind, wonderful @bright&shiny is, as discussed in a previous thread, having open heart surgery on Friday. And she's scared.

I was wondering if ALL of us could pitch in with positive vibes, encouraging comments, entertaining memes, your best jokes, and truly GREAT bargains you might have seen currently in the jewelry world. NO MEDICAL STORIES OR DETAILS, PLEASE.

When I was really ill, Pricescope threw a blanket of love and support around me, and it meant more than I can say.

Can we please do the same for @bright&shiny? I will happily go first!

@bright&shiny, you are one strong woman with a big heart! And a pretty bangin' sense of style! And I believe with all my being that you're going to walk this road with strength and grace, determination and true grit, and you will SHOOT out into the light when all is done. Oh, @bright&shiny , I will be thinking of you tonight, tomorrow, and all week as you recover. I just know you are going to do great.

Whenever I am anxious about something and just cannot get my mind quiet, after I have tried the usual (meditation, sometimes meds, etc.), I like to remember this scene and phrase from the movie Shakespeare in Love.

“What do we do?”’

”Nothing. Strangely enough, it all turns out well.”

”How?”

”It’s a mystery.”

Sending up good thoughts and prayers for you. Let your team know you have anxiety about the procedure and about needles and they can help you get through it—you will be surprised at the tools they have to help.

It will be ok. I’m not sure how yet, but it will.

Just an update. @bright&shiny's procedure has been pushed back to this afternoon due to an emergency which requires her surgeon and anesthesiologist. She's hanging in there and handling it with patience and true grit.

If the emergency surgery goes longer than a certain time, I assume they'll need to reschedule bright&shiny's procedure, but at this point it's this afternoon.
