Hello! After lurking around here and looking at all of your gorgeous jewelry, I thought I would come on and post some of my favorites.

Of course, I''m still a LIW, so I don''t have the most important piece

, but I have some others that I do enjoy.

Here is my Judith Ripka Fontaine smokey topaz ring that I wear almost everyday. (hope this works!)

This one is my favorite--I couldn''t get a really great picture of it, but it''s a David Yurman sage ice with diamond halo...I feel like a princess when I wear it

This is my mom''s necklace, but I''m borrowing it (I brought it to the Judith Ripka store to be cleaned for her, so I feel justified in wearing it for a couple of days

Okay, last one--sorry if I bored you all!

HI:

Very lovely pieces--thanks for sharing!

cheers--Sharon

Beautiful! What's a 'sage ice' by the way?

Thanks for posting them!

ETA: You know it's a smoky quartz not a topaz - there's no such thing as 'smoky topaz'.

I didn''t know that! Thanks for telling me--it was a gift and the person who gave it to me told me "smokey topaz!" Thanks for the correction, though--I feel silly now!

Sage Ice is one of the names of the stone-I think it''s also called a prasiolite (sp?)...

Beautiful pieces, thank you for posting them. You also have beautiful hands.

Linda

Hi Alli,
I think you have beautiful hands and fingers to wear rings. Lovely long fingers. Nice collection

Thanks,
Annette

Oooh I love your big, bold pieces, esp the Yurmans! Thanks for sharing!

Not silly at all - in the past it was often sold as topaz, although less common now. Topaz is a much harder gem than quartz and a whole different species which is why it shouldn't be sold as such.

I love smoky quartz, my sister has a beautiful one my grandmother gave her that I covert like crazy!

'True' Prasiolite is very rare, and that looks like a nice big clean one. It's the only true variety of green quartz. Sometimes it's called 'Green Amethyst', although most green amethysts on the market are just heat-treated or irradiated amethyst.

Here's a pic of a 'supposedly natural' (not my words) prasiolite crystal - it's a very pretty colour and looks similar to yours going by your pictures. Do you have any close-ups?

I don''t have another picture right now--I will take one tomorrow if I can, but it''s very hard to get a good picture of the stone; it''s got a definite green tint in real life, but it''s also very clear and picks up whatever''s around...

thank you for all of your compliments! I wish I had thinner fingers so when I eventually do get a ER (whenever that is), the stone would look bigger

Thanks so much, ladies!!
Catmom--is that ring in your avatar yours? I am absolutely in awe...

So...I tried taking a few more pics, but I just can''t get a great picture of the stone because it''s so clear...here''s my best efforts...

sorry, I tried!
