So I had a lot of fun this weekend going through my jewelry box abs sorting through the rings I no longer wear. Coincidentally, many of these were bought pre Pricescope, so the quality of the diamonds is meh. But, I think the end result turned out well. Here we go. Wish I had the before shots, but I didn’t take any.
First up, the tanzanite that I bought cheaply last weekend. This one came with a terribly cheap setting. I do have that pic. Here is the before and after. I happened to have this halo setting holding a really bad diamond and it was my travel ring. But I like this much better.

The side stones total 1.05 carats that I originally bought as earrings and since I can’t wear them, I repurposed into a ring that I never wore bc they were very lifeless. Like it much better as a pendant bc I can’t see it when I wear it. Lol.

Stunning! Love that color of the tanzanite.
I find that tanzanites have gone down significantly in price.
And the diamonds are "wow"!!!!

Thank you! Since I only buy estate, I think I did pretty well. Although I will say, it was hard to find a round tanzy to fit this setting.

Each project is gorgeous! I love the color of the stones.

Thank you! I feel better knowing that I can wear these rather than having theM sit in my box.

Always better to be able to enjoy the sparklies than to have them sitting in a box, and never appreciated! All are stunning!! Bravo!!

Beautiful turn out! The end results are lovely.

On a side note, I have always wondered about estate sales, how do you find them? I keep wondering if I would ever be happy with an estate buy since I can be so obsessive, but I've definitely wanted to try.

Thank you!

As to your question, I’m really lucky that i have established a network of estate dealers whom I constantly stalk. It’s taken me a while to reach the point where I’m no longer making mistakes going estate. So I would say, proceed with caution and always ask for a refund policy.

I knew I was going to like this thread, very pretty!!!

Lol. Thank you! I keep myself and my bench busy.

These are gorgeous!

Where did you get the necklace setting? Custom?

Love them all nala!!! Fabulous job recycling pieces that aren’t getting any wear. The color of the tanzanite is gorgeous! I love your threads, always something pretty to see. :appl:

Thank you. It was actually custom. I’m spoiled. It’s not perfect by any means. But I have a bench who improvises and put it together in a couple of hours! He works in a very low traffic jewelry mart and so has lots of time on his hands.

Thank you! I am actually withholding from wearing the tanzy until after Xmas, otherwise i won’t have new bling to open on that day. Lol.

I think the term you are looking for is upcycled! Love all of your projects!
