A girl walks into a sample sale...

and buys a dress. Oh yeah. I still feel nervous/jittery about it, and perhaps a little guilty, but really adore the dress. MAJOR thanks to the lovely KittyBean for dress-hunting with me. She is super sweet & cute and I totally appreciated her help today!

On to the photos... It is an Augusta Jones style Madagascar. It was more than $1000 off the price tag. My mom has to yet to voice her opinion (well, she said "pretty" to a cell/text photo). I value her opinion a lot, and hopefully she doesn't despise it. It is *different* but very ethereal and flowing and simple. There are clips in the photo, but it really fits fine on its own, especially once the internal corset is laced up. These photos were taken at the store, by darling Kitty!

I think it is really gorgeous!!!

But I do have to ask you one question. It almost looks like a larger flower is sticking out right in the center of the boob on left side (left in the picture, right in real life). Is that just an illusion or is that the way it is? If so, I''d want that flower removed or changed to be like the others!

One nit-picky thing... there's a rose seems to stick out in the middle of your left breast. I'm not sure if it's an illusion, but it's on 2 of the pictures. I'd have the seamstress fix that. Otherwise, excellent choice!

ETA: For those wondering about it, the stray rosette on the chest just needs to be reattached--should be a quick and easy fix.

The more I look at it, the more I love it! I spoke with my mom & sister and they both think its really pretty :whew: but my mom wants to ask my sister if shed like to wear my old dress

Mind you, my sister already HAS a wedding dress (cute tea-length) but I think my mom just wants SOMEONE to wear the old dress. Its probably going to be donated. I''m fairly certain that I''m just going to pay for the new/sample dress... It wasn''t super-super-super cheap, and I told my parents I''d go halfsies, but I think I feel better getting it on my own. They can still offer to pay for alterations, though, and I won''t say no

I''m super excited to get it cleaned, re-stitch the little rosebud, and have it hemmed. And I''m looking forward to wearing it!!! And I hope, hope, hope the old dress will be enjoyed by SOME bride somewhere. I know it was a total splurge to get dress #2, but its so different and I feel like I''ve just made a fresh start. I can put the old mess completely behind me and enjoy my flowing girly flowery dress even with its loose flowers and snags and minor imperfections
