A little update :) The work order has been faxed today :)

FF got up extra early this morning to head off to the post office before work to fax off the work order (unless something prevented him from doing it) to LM

, I am so OMG excited right now. He wouldn't show me what was on it because apparently I already know it all anyway

so I don't know if I do or if I don't. He forgot to mention about a wedding band sitting flush but he will amened the order and add that before he faxes it (I hope he doesn't forget). So I figure that puts me about 3-4wks away from a completed ring

but about 6-8 wks before we pick it up and possibly longer before I get it

. How I will handle a trip OS with him in possession of the ring I have no idea, though I have a feeling I will become like some crazy lady going into conniptions every time he ties his shoelace.

On another exciting update we also put a hold on our tour so our trip should be finalised this week

Delster I have ideas on what it could be but I don''t want to think anything in particular that way I am open to whatever it is. As for the trip I think we have we might have to tweak it slightly but we look to be heading out early September and arrive back late October. We will be in Europe during Sept and October so I have no idea of what to pack I want to do some shopping in NY hopefully we get time there is so much to do. I get cold easily according to FF I am a nanna

, I wonder if I will need jackets or just jumpers. I am still slightly over budget on time so I might have to cut down a little further but it works out we will spend a week in Austria, Croatia, 1.5 weeks (might have to cut this back to a week) in Serbia, 2 weeks touring Europe, 3 days in NY, 3 days in London and HK so a little of everything. The plan is to get this finalised this week so we are all set, planning a massive trip like this is harder then I thought.

I have a feeling we will be completely exhausted when we get back, happy but exhausted and engaged

I was thinking about your weather questions and gosh I don''t know what to advise you. Sep/Oct in Europe can be blustery, or it can be glorious sunshine! If it were me, I''d pack the basics for NY and then go to Century 21 or the outlets and stock up on warmies for Europe, if you''ll need ''em. Although, will it be a nightmare to lug all your shopping around with you?

We have progressed much further then since the last time I posted an update, we have everything booked but have had major overhauls on our trip, we pay for our flights tomorrow and depart in less then a month

.

One travel agent stuffed our booking, and lost us our tour, needless to say I was fuming and really upset (I gave her a very firm talking to FF was really proud as usually I am non confrontational and don't complain) she refused to fix it and didn't offer a satisfactory alternative (offering $50 each off a $400+ more tour is pathetic when she made the mistake) so we booked with another agent who gave us a $100 off each and thanks to some research I saved us $830 each off our flights .

We also will no longer be going to Hong Kong instead Thailand here we come

, I really wanted to go there so I can visit the tiger temple and shop it is a shame we won't see his niece or nephew but we plan to go there in January sometime.

We also now will be spending 5 nights in NY

OMG we are wait listed for accommodation but we most likely staying at the Edison Hotel, fairly expensive as we are on a budget (7 wks of travel is expensive) but apparently the location is great and it is cheap for the area can I ask where you stayed in NY? I keep looking up prices but wow compared to here the prices are seriously steep.

I am half nervous and half excited to go it is a little scary and exciting but I think it will be so much fun , I really can't wait. I just get a little nervous with flying hence the little scary and we will be flying ALOT. We get back late at night the day before my friends wedding and we were unsure what to do about the announcement and I keep trying to be sneaky about finding details about the proposal but so far no luck he is so on to me. However I have it on good authority (from the source himself) that we can announce it to everyone while we are in Europe

however he also said if the ring didn't fit we could get LM to resize it???? I don't think we will be sending the ring back to NY when we get back so who knows what he has planned, sneaky little bugger.

How's the thesis going? I hope it is progressing really well .

Oh wow, good on you for cracking the whip at that travel agent, what a pity she didn''t shape up. She deserved to lose the business and you did the right thing going elsewhere. I can''t believe how much you saved on your flights, that''s fantastic! That''s like €400-odd right?

Some friends of mine got amazing suits custom made in Thailand, takes about a week apparently, I don''t know if you''ll have the time for something like that though.

You will be fine with the flying. Maybe take some Sea-Legs or something that makes you drowsy? I hate being awake for the whole of a long flight, it gets so tedious and I get all horrible and cranky. Poor FI

Leon will definitely be able to resize your ring if it needs it. I actually think his conversion chart might be a bit off as I got four jewellers here to size me and we told Leon that size and he converted it but the ring was way too small. He had to go up just a bit over a half size. His assistants thought he should have gone up even more but he said no and he was right to. It was still tight while I was over there but now I''m home it''s perfect. I would plan to go to Leon early on in your trip, try the ring on, and then he''ll have a couple of days to get it resized for you. He did the resizing for us overnight and even apologised for not having it done quicker! If BF doesn''t want you to see the ring before the proposal, bring a blindfold!!!

We stayed in a suites kind of place while we were there, it saved us loads of money because we just went to the supermarket and bought supplies and then we were able to make our own breakfasts and dinners. Here''s the link to the place we stayed:

I think for the wedding I would probably get word home before you arrive back so your family can come and meet you at the airport and celebrate with you, and it won''t be like you''re announcing it at the wedding. Don''t be worrying about that. Everyone will be delighted for you and will make a fuss over you but families have more than enough love and excitement for two happy events at once! If someone came to my wedding newly engaged I''d fuss over her!!! I''d be delighted for them both!!!

I will be able to talk about the thesis tomorrow. It''s still a touchy subject today

We saved about 750 pounds so quite substantial, amazing what a little research gets you.

His family will be in Thailand I think I don''t think we will be meeting up though, his sister will be and I think picking us up from the airport, my dad will be at home (he can''t drive that far) and my sister lives out of state but I am sure they will all be over the moon.

I looked up that hotel and it is almost double the price a night of what the Edison is but thanks for posting. I will keep looking around and see what I can find if the trip wasn''t so long I would not be worried but every dollar counts the trip is definitely adding up.

I am so hoping to get a suit/pants/skit in Thailand but I don''t know if I will have time we will be there four nights but either way the shopping should be good, I plan to take only basics and stock up in NY and Thailand whoo hoo shopping time.

I just got off the phone with FF and told him your advice about the blindfold so we will be checking the size before we leave OMG the anticipation

A lot of the recommendations were out of our budget, the Eastgate was one of the cheapest we found, we paid €154 a night (about $230 (US) a night I think). If you''re coming in at half the price again, I want you booking all my holidays from now on

I am currently looking at travel insurance and I think I may have found an option that saves like $300 again a little research goes a long way.

I haven''t checked that thread I keep meaning to the Edison is being quoted at $1690 AUD (790GBP) for the 5 nights which is not that bad but not that great either however if there is cheaper I will find it. WOW that''s a great price on the Eastgate it came up at around $600 USD a night when I just looked I will have to re-check that.
