Typically, I am not one to post about perfect days with Eric... But yesterday was one I had to write about.
Eric and I decided we needed a getaway day and picked to go to Solvang (about 2.5 hours away from where we live) and just have a nice day of shopping, wine tasting, and each other. If any of you have seen Sideways the movie, you know all about this adorable town. It''s a dutch town with a lot of character and charm.
So the drive was glorious!! Clear and sunny but with a crisp feel. We drove along the ocean and talked about everything, sang songs, and held hands. Then we got into town and walked around. We found a wine tasteing place we wanted to go to and settled on 5 sparkling wines. YUMM!! The whole time Eric kept looking at me in a loving way, to which I adored. hehe (P.S. I SWORE to myself I would NOT bring up a ring at all this day so he didn''t feel pressure)
As we sat enjoying the wines Eric looks at me and starts saying... "Erin, you need something RIGHT HERE (points to my ring finger)" So I just laughed and encouraged him to change the subject - Remember, I promised myself I wouldn''t talk about it... But over and over again he managed to bring it up. It made me laugh and I told him about my self-promise to which he replied "Good!! It''s about time I bring it up and let you know how serious I am."
Even as we walked the town, everything he would say kept coming back to being engaged. I was stunned. I mean he has brought it up, here and there, but yesterday was a RECORD!! So I enjoyed every minute of it.
It was one of our most perfect days. One I will never forget. And if I am on the right track... My ring may be on it''s way by even FEBRUARY!! Wow!!
I feel so lucky and I can''t wait to be his FOREVER. I just wanted to share. Below is a pic from the day. Thanks for reading!!
