Nor me Ckrickett. Does anyone know how long the wait is normally for a BGD?

Hey Atroop, I''m honing my photography skills while I wait. I might even get as far as buying the new camera as well!

Gailey-your new band sounds like it is going to be gorgeous! Would you be setting the pink diamonds in white metal or RG? I ask because unless you choose diamonds that are quit saturated in color, they may be lost in the white metel. Round pink diamonds can look white in alot of lighting situations unless accentuated with RG or dark in color. Either way I would probably still choose pink diamonds over sapphire-but would want to get the most bang for my buck :) Can''t wait to see it finished!
Therein lies the rub SNC. Because of my preference for pastel vs. saturated, I don''t think the pink is going to be that noticeable in such tiny stones. I discovered on my tourmaline journey that I didn''t much care for rose gold around pale pink either. Personally, I thought the rose gold over-powered the pink in most of the photos I''ve seen. On the few occasions I have seen a pale pink stone in a pale yellow gold bezel, that has been by far my favourite. I tell you, all of these "pink" issues are the reason that my tourmaline project has not gone ahead.

I agree with Stepcutnut, as I have light pink diamonds set in white gold and I really should have gone quite a bit darker or brighter for them to really be obvious. However, alongside beautiful white diamonds I think they would probably be noticeable. I had been thinking of this exact style with small pinks as well as I think they would look superb ...
Hey Loveloveloveit, here''s the picture that Lesley sent me of the pink sapphires, to give you an idea of brighter stones. Just wasn''t the right shade of pink for me, but I am sure there are plenty of people out there that will love it.

I''ve come to the conclusion is what I need is a nice big 3-5ct pale pink diamond, so I can really appreciate the colour and get over all these, how to set them issues!

Oh why did God bless me with Rolls-Royce taste and a Fiat budget!?!?!?

Pretty! I''m all for the pink diamonds, too!
Hey Joflier, this is the kind of pink that really "floats my boat". See what I mean about needing the size to be able to appreciate the colour. Imagine this colour of diamond shrunk down to such a tiny diamond.

I''m really digging your spin on ''The Nightingale.''

Can''t wait to see how it''s going to turn out
10.gif
Thanks Lexie, I have a feeling BGD will get lots of enquiries for different coloured stones as the accent diamonds. I imagine if you really like blue sapphires, then this would be a good choice. I can see bright green going in there too.

I predict we will see many Nightingale variations before long.

It''ll be fantastic! Can''t wait to see it!

It''s beautiful!!!! I would love a surprise like that! Cant wait to see pics!!!

Beautiful bit of bling you got going on there!

Here''s a little ''nightingale'' tribute for you, in song!

OMG, one of my top 5 all time favourite songs. You''re a witch LS, (a white one I hope!) Thank you so much for the link.

You know Dame Vera Lynn has broken into the UK''s top 20 album charts this week. Not a bad achievement for a grand old lady of 92! What an inspiration.

You know, I never thought about the song when I was considering the ring. Wonder if I made the connection sub-consciously?

sweet! great idea!
Thanks D&T. I can''t take credit for the original idea. I think the first Nightingale we saw was for Mymom (apologies if I have that wrong). I was also hugely taken with kcoursolle''s beautiful ring. It was a struggle to decide which one I liked the best.

I believe the KtIceRN, working with BGD, came up with the original Nightengale -- based on a ring she''d had designed for her mom:

I hope you find just the side stones you''re looking for -- it''s going to be a spectacular ring!

How did you know my birthday was on Hallowe''en?? (it is, really!)

The first thing I though of was Vera Lynn: I grew up with her blasting out from my Mom''s old stereo in the living room: it was her favourite. I thought it was amazing she''s up at the top of the charts AGAIN at 92! Amazing!

Love the ring.

Gailey, it''s going to be gorgeous. You''re going to love having a five stone. They are uniquely different from anything else in our jewelry boxes. They''re in a class by themselves.

I can appreciate your pink predicament. I''m a pink girl too, and I''m not fond of the hotter pinks either. I love the softer pinks. While you like peachy pinks, I''m a lavendar pink girl. Either way, they''re tough to come by and they''re expensive! Have you considered a light to medium tone of pink tourmaline melee on the ends? I would mount them in white gold myself. It''s rare that rose gold actually matches or enhances pink stones.

I can''t wait to see the finished product. I get almost as excited for fellow PSers who are waiting for something as I would for myself.

Hey Gemgirl,

When I was searching for my anniversary stone, finding the right shade in any type of stone was very difficult. To be honest, I think the problem lies in the size of the stones and their placement. I just don''t think they are going to stand out enough.

I''m happy to find someone else who feels as I do about rose gold and pink stones.

Hi Gailey!

Your new ring is incredible.....I can''t wait to see it on your pretty hand!!!!!

Lori

Hey Lori, thank you honey! I think your new key pendant with the heart is an awesome idea. I''ve got a little heart, maybe it needs a key too!

Too many beautiful temptations around here.

I''m busily rubbing Bio-oil into my tired old gardeners hands 2-3 times a day in preparation for my close-up!

Gailey, perhaps you could save pinks for a later date with an idea to add them in eventually. I think they would be stunning if you could get just the right colour, against your beautiful whites, but it does cost a lot to get them! Can''t wait to see your completed project ...

It''s really pretty Gailey! Nice ''surprise''.
2.gif
Hey Ellen. Thanks, bit of a surprise for me is an understatement. It''s pushing my Ellen tribute ring back a ways, but I''ll get there in the end. At least that one was straight forward to organise! I chose Wink, the CAD came back virtually perfect first time. I umm-ed and aah-ed over white gold vs, platinum and decided that the upcharge for the platinum was so insignificant not to go with it. Especially when you factor in re-plating costs from time to time.

You know, I''ve sped through this 5-stone project with Lesley, I don''t think I ever thought to ask about platinum vs. white gold. Perhaps I should before we go any further. Details, details! ....
I can''t wait to see it Gailey! What''s the projected due date, do you know?

As soon as I get a handle on the tourmaline project, I will pursue the spinel project.

The tourmaline has given me nothing but headaches and more questions than answers.

I was browsing the Scholdt site a day or two ago and quite liked some of their settings with the spinel in mind. There is also one Scholdt supplier in town, so that might make it a bit easier.

I''m also anxious to see how the delivery goes with my 5 stone. If it''s a smooth cross border transaction, I won''t mind doing others. If it''s a difficult process, then it might put me off a bit.

I am loving your project already!

Lesley and Brian are so wonderful to work with and I am sure you would not have any problem with this cross border transaction. I speak wtih experience!

Cool side view on that setting.

I know what you mean about wanting a band to curve instead of sit there like a stick, that''s what has been wrong with some rings I''ve tried on. Thanks for sharing that info.

Now why couldn''t I have thought of that analogy? That describes perfectly what I was trying to avoid. I hope it works!

Thanks Stone Hunter.
