After getting an early start planning my wedding, I totally slacked off. I reserved a ceremony/reception site, a caterer, a florist, and a make-up artist this spring. And since then I''ve done nothing!
I''m coming up on our one-year pre-anniversary - our wedding is 9/20/08. Despite the fact that most sane people with normal jobs think a year is enough time to plan a wedding, my crazy schedule plus the fact that fiance and I are long distance from each other and both out of town from the wedding makes it a little more complicated.
So I''m recommitting to wedding planning. The things we need to get settled:
1) a DJ. The last major thing, really. Most stressful cause a bad or good DJ can make or break a party, I think. And I have pretty specific taste.
2) Room blocks. The town our wedding is in has several wedding venues...and one small hotel. I think I''d better plan to reserve a room block a year in advance. But apparently fiance''s family all wants to stay at the airport hotel (?!) anyway, even though it''s 45 min away.
3) Day after brunch. The location we went takes reservations 1 year in advance only. If we decide to do this, we should plan to do it soon too!
4) Ordering my dress. I decided ages ago, but it''s a matter of getting measured, then picking up the phone and ordering.
4Bb) The shoes. Have to have the shoes so my hem-to-hollow measurement can be correct. I just ordered these from Zappos today. Hope they are bearable, cause they are gorgeous!
