I would if I wanted that kind of wedding dress, but I want a mermaid/trumpet gown, so I vote not for me.

For $500 Australian? Looks like a Bargin IMO, it''s beautiful.

If you have tried on a similar style dress and like the way it looks on you then yes go for it, it is def a bargin (btw in an aussie too)

yeah i didn''t really know what i wanted. i was gonna go for a very fitting simple chiffon dress but it was hard to walk in... and a bit more expensive too...

It was so confusing, cos my maids of honor and the salesperson kept changing their minds about which one looked best on me.

If i''m being really honest, i want the best cheapest dress i can afford... which was why i am considering this option. There was a meringue looking one that was cheaper but it was like 5 kgs (SO HEAVY) in weight.

Anyway, this dress i''m looking at is not exactly liek the picture. It has a satin top with boning that is very fitting and lots of crystals around the breast area (am i allowed to say that???) and has an A-line tulle skirt. Very simple, not to puffy.

I am having a garden wedding, which was why a simple skirt!

Luckyshe, no probs. i know what you mean!

4ever and supergirl, Hello!

Nice to see fellow aussies here =) I agree it is a bargain. The dress was originally 1000-1500 AUD (i think!)

Thanks ladies for the input! I''m lucky to be average sized, cos all the sale dresses are the same size and i got to try all of them LMAO

This is a pic of the actual dress i am talking about.

Hello another Aussie here! Looks like a very good price to me. I didnt see anything anywhere near that price!! As long as you like it and feel special in it then go for it.

I love the dress in the first pic, but I''m honestly not loving the actual dress pic that you posted. So many things are different, the waist is lower, the skirt isn''t pleated, and I think it looses a lot of the "specialness" that I liked in the first dress. However, it''s really hard to judge a dress without seeing it on the real person. Would you be able to or have you tried on the actual dress?

Hi Sabine

I''m a bit like you, i LOVE the dress in the first pic. Looks very elegant which is the feel i''m going for, and it''s simple and pretty.

However, i did try on the dress in the second and third pic and it fitted beautifully and looks much better in real life. Maybe i just didn''t look at it properly LOL

It''s hard to buy wedding gowns, they are all so expensive!

I''m all confused. I tried on too many wedding dresses i think.

Hi cindy! another Aussie here!!

If you love the dress then go for it... $500 is a bargain for what i have seen in the stores in Australia, But if you love the price more than the dress maybe wait a bit to see what else is around... when is your wedding?

ps i know exactly what you mean about trying on too many dresses too... i bought one just because i couldn''t face trying any more on!

Ok you are going to think I''m crazy for putting down a deposit on the dress...My wedding is next year... wait for it... OCTOBER!!!

Yes, it''s still ages away. I just want to be super-prepared because i take my time to do things usually. Just that with this dress, it was the only one left, it''s a bargain and i wanted time to think about it.

Do i love the price more than the dress?? I think not. The price is just a bonus. I think the picture is confusing me because i look different in the dress. Not quite so "plain" and as i remember, the bodice is very sparkly. I think the picture just doesn''t do it justice.

well it sounds like you have found a great deal then!
36.gif
no i don''t think it is crazy that you have got your dress and the wedding isn''t till october... the dress is the only thing i have organised!! (that, and the decorations!)
1.gif

Haha i''m organising the dress 14 months before the wedding LOL what if i get fat before then? Oh dear... I still have no venue, no celebrant, nothing yet

Are you maid of honor and bridesmaids helping you? I have two maids of honor and no bridesmaid... One of them is adding to the stress cos we went to look for THEIR dress and they''ve gained two dress sizes LOL

Seriously, I should be stressing!!!

Anyway, i will take photos of me in it (CLEAR ONES) that show the sparkly bodice and post pics here so you guys can let me know what you think about it :)

P.S: I want to try on other dresses, do you think the shop assistant will let me? I just want to make sure i get the best dress i can afford you know?

I''m not having bm''s or a moh as such... i have a 9 year old girl and i am gaining a 15 year old step daughter (and i''m 29 lol) so i will be having them, but i am not expecting them to help me.

I think the shop should let you try other dresses on... just be honest with them, you really love the dress that you have put the deposit on but you just want to make sure that it is ''the one'' by trying on some others... i know i would!

Where abouts are you in Oz? it''s getting pretty late over in the east!

I''m in Perth! Awww A family wedding. That would be fantastic!!!

I''m having a traditional wedding over in Indonesia (which is where i''m from, although i''m a Aussie now), and a simple garden wedding here in Perth. We''re trying to keep costs down. I honestly can''t justify throwing so much money into one day. I think expensive weddings are not necessarily the best, so i''m doing as much DIY stuff myself so the wedding is more affordable and personal.

And i''m only 21 (going on 22) so i dont have much savings yet LOL

Goodnight hawaiianorangetree! Thanks for all the kind words =) it''s so late so you must be so tired!!

A wedding in Indonesia would be awesome! We really wanted to get married in Bali but as for reasons you mentioned above we are getting married at home in our garden.

Selamat malam cindy can''t wait to see you in that dress!!

I voted "keep looking" based on the first picture. But I like the real dress a lot better than the picture (the first one is too "ballerina" for my tastes). I think the second one would be beautiful and is a great price!

jstarfireb, Aww thanks! I think the first dress will only suit girls who are very petite (which i am not). The second dress is very simple and sweet i guess =)

Ooh... A fellow aussie! The dresses look great, my only suggestions are, make sure the alteration costs are either included in the price or is fairly reasonable. Not sure if this brand is available online, but I managed to save $120 by buying online. I was a BM last year and we got the dresses from Link

Cheers

I didnt really like the first dress because of the pleated skirt but I really like this one and would consider buying it
(if I were a bride-to-be)

Hi jjdav! Gday!

Ummm no alterations needed, the dress fits great! Thank you!

Hi Tyty... i still remember that beautiful D colour pear of yours =)) Thanks for the comment.

I will post pics of my trying on the dress soon!!! (like right now)
