A week of shapes

@Acinom yes I like to wear the trillion Mahenge ring, it is back with the bench being resized at the mo, hopefully I shall get it back soon.

DK :))

I only have one rectangle but I’m going to throw my mom’s in too just because

Was excited for Thursday, since emerald cuts are my favorite :) Most of my stones are still loose, with the exception of my emerald & spinel 3 stone ring.

2.66ct Purple tourmaline from Mozambique (cut by Barry Bridgestock)
1.74 Blue Green tourmaline from Afghanistan
1.18 Blue Green tourmaline from Namibia

Tourmalines.jpg

My camera just can't seem to capture the purple properly, it keeps coming out brownish which I do NOT see at all in person. It's more of a pinkish mauvish purple.
Purple Tourm.jpg

From left to right, top to bottom:
3-stone Russian emerald with Burmese pink spinels
Pinkish red Burmese spinel pair
Yellow sapphire - 1.56ct from Sri Lanka & untreated
Lilac spinel - 2.11ct from Burma
Gray spinel - 2.27ct from Burma
Spinels.jpg
Spinels 2.jpg

I bought way too many emerald cuts this year and no idea what to do with them... I'll probably set the red spinels in a bypass ring, Art Deco setting with more step cuts for gray spinel, halo the purple tourmaline, then the rest in stackers eventually??

Not mine but a girl can dream.

I adore the color combo in your three stone.

I have one rectangle, a mini opposed bar cut. I love the colour and the cut is fun - when the light moves side to side it reminds me of the cylons from Battlestar Galactica. I just wish it was a bit bigger, ok, a lot bigger!

It's with the jeweler just now and will be set in sliver. Between lockdown (shops closed) and the Christmas rush, I'm not sure when I'll get it back.

@Acinom you have an amazing collection!
Do you have a thread on your oval opal ring in the floral setting? It’s beautiful!

I have a few loose rectangles, but don’t have them with me to take pictures and am sharing the vendor photos.

Your emerald cuts are so gorgeous! I especially love the purple tourmaline cut by Barry . That‘s not a color you see very often and to have one cut by Barry makes it even more special.

Your entire collection is so gorgeous , but I keep coming back to look at your tourmaline with diamond and ruby band stack. I love it!

This héliodor was cut by Precision Gem. I've already sent it off and have something exciting planned for it... But not going to start it until my blue sapphire has been set... I've never had to wait so long before, but it's understandable with important projects to take the time to get it right.

Thanks!!
I thought it was festive

DW's 2.02ct Rhodochrosite measures 6.6x6.2, so I guess that counts as a rectangle. :) Still trying to decide if we'll risk setting it as a special occasion ring, or maybe a ringdant.

Who did your setting your for the concave cut?

Who did your setting your for the concave cut?

That setting was from Kyo at jewelryhoo2. Here’s a link to the design, shown set with one of their stones. I ordered the setting style only, made to fit my center stone.

Loving everyone’s collections. Thanks for sharing.

@elle_71125 it is great to see you ovals in a saturated and colourful line up. Looove that group pic with huge eyed dog. You rings are very sophisticated.

Hope you will receive your beautiful ring back soon @dk168 . Love that look. And thank you for sharing your rectangles. Always impressed to see your rings and stones. You always have great ideas for your loose stones. Love all your rectangles, but those blues are amazing!!

Thanks @Niel for sharing your mother and daughter rings. You have a great eye for jewelry. You have acquired a beautiful collection over the years.

@Chasiu favourite indeed! What a stunning bunch of emeralds. Great finds. Looking forward to see how you set them. Huge fan of your pink and green ring.

@missy a girl can dream indeed! A huge emerald cut diamond of my first manager ignited my love for jewelry to the max. Thanks for sharing.

@Tartansparkles: gorgeous colour!! Hope you receive you new silver jewelry piece soon. So excited for you.

@2Neezers: Thank you for your kind words. I think I only posted my oval opal in the Alistair Kelsey thread.
Wow your rectangles!!! I can see you picked every one of them carefully. I am a fan of your tourmaline ring! Love that concave cut.

@voce: so curious to see how you will set that beauty from Gene! Amazing colour. Can’t wait to see what you have in mind for is as you have a great taste in jewelry.

@prs what a beautiful and saturated pink. I think my blue Paraiba and your Rhodochrosite actually belong to the ‘pillow’ day. But we make our own rules.

@Lexililac a beautiful colour indeed. Do you plan to set it after a possible recut?

@CSpan: what a beauty in that box! Hope you will receive it soon.

Thank again! Tomorrow will be the Day of Hearts!

Here are some rectangular ones that I’ve set

I just have the single heart-shaped spinel. I think this is the least common cut to find for many CS. Maybe someday I'll add more of these cuts to my collection.

I only have these to share for heart Friday...sweet heart shaped antique diamond earrings.

heartearringsinbox.png

And this 9 carat heart. Not mine. But from a visit to IDJ a few years ago. Heartlicious.

heartdiamond.jpeg

Yup, I love hearts and have a few heart CS of my own:

793575 577003576666585344 585343
582974573306
569886 768501

I would probably have a lot more CS hearts had the likes of Jeff W and Gary would cut them.

Jeff D has hearts from time to time.

I would love to have a neon pink Sapphire heart one day.

DK :))
