I just ran across this little site, (Color Survey Results showing how different people describe different colors and it was very thought provoking. I certainly hope that Chrono and Tourmaline Lover pay attention to the intricate details shown here, as I''m sure that it will affect their future perceptions of color and it''s various descriptions. Here''s a sample:

Michael,
I think I must be a male in disguise because the female colour description boggles my mind.

Oh, it just get worse Chrono. Here''s a short list of color names gotten from clicking on a link in that site..."puke green" is an actual color...

LMAO!! Thanks Michael, I'll keep that in mind for future reference.

Yesterday, my boss got a red swingline stapler, like in the movie Office Space. My coworker told me to go take a look at it, and I said it was maroon, not red!! Oh, I must have a female brain.

my hubby is the geek type and assures me that science has determined that womens'' eyesight is finer tuned to color diffences......i''m guessing we women as gatherers in ancient times had to determine those differences to make sure we collected the right berries, leaves, tubers, etc for eating/drinking....and not those poisonous ones.

I don''t see periwinkle on that list!?

I do see why I had a hard time figuring out LIME and Spring Green they are so close together. TFS

Oh no, I''m a man! (Apart from blue where I have been known to use the word "Teal")

Hmmmm.... I''m a guy and I see more like a woman evidently lol! Tell this to Stephan Hofer lmfao!

What the tangerine and cantaloupe lack in saturation they make up for with a strong brown modifier. I just couldn''t accept either of these as orange. The eggplant is lacking the depth of true aubergine. It is too blue and suffers, like the strawberry and the bubblegum, from a grey mask. The salmon looks close to ideal, but I suspect it may be genetically modified, or at least farmed.

Hilarious!

still loving me some VapidLapid!! LOL!!!!

Thanks, Michael. I keep finding I need to add colors to that chart, however.

Lmao, so awesome!

(Of course as long as the guy isn't a jeweler...) ;-)

I''ll add "Spindrift" to my list... I''ve never heard that term for a color before!

Where have I previously seen it? Land''s End? Victoria''s Secret? LLBean?
Land''s End cashmere sweaters section, I think.

The seafoam would look nice on a tourmaline, but I wouldn''t eat a strawberry that colour.Unlike what the bubblegum industry tells us, strawberries are red!

My husband agrees with that list...lol
