A couple of shops said they can do things like sew the cups into the dress so you don''t need to wear the bra. Is that workable or is it better to just get the bustier etc?Date: 2/10/2008 11:31:57 AM

My suggestion is to go to www.figleaves.com and www.barenecessities.com, order everything with those specs in your size, try them all on, pick the best, and send the rest back. You''ll be out $6 or so in shipping costs and you''ll be skipping $6000 worth of aggravation.

I''ve had that popping out of dress problem with other strapless dresses for sure. I wonder if the top is fitted tightly enough that it might be okay though... i''m wary of how much room bustiers take up inside the dress. I don''t know for sure though. I want it very fitted. Doesn''t Victoria''s Secret have a lot of different options for body shaper garments?Date: 2/10/2008 11:59:57 AM

yes, they said they could sew in cups but suggested that i might be more comfortable dancing, etc., with a bra - so i don''t feel like i''m going to pop out of my dress if i raise my arms or something. the main problem is that what i need just doesn''t seem to exist - and especially not in a 32B, which is what i need. now i''m thinking maybe a bustier paired with spanx - but i''m afraid you''ll see a line where the two meet. i may just have no choice other than cups. thanks for the suggestions!
I think you really need to buy a selection of underpinnings and go for another fitting with the correct underwear that you will be wearing. It makes a HUGE difference! Trust me, I went through returning a lot of underwear until I found the right things. The thing about bustiers is yes they give your bust more of a lift, if that''s what you want, but they''re hellatiously uncomfortable to sit down in as everything gets pushed up into your neck! I felt like my boobs were coming out all over the place when I sat down in one, along with every micro-ounce of fat! I ended up finding a great padded push up bra that was strapless and had a wide band along with boning on the sides to keep the bra up where it belongs. My seamstress also put in better quality boning along the side bustline of the dress so it helped keep the dresses bustline up where it belonged and not slipping down too much. It seemed to work okay. I also used Spanx underwear and used the highwaisted style so it came right up to the bra line. But really, it''s best to get the underwear sorted out before final alterations because it can change how the dress fits.Date: 2/10/2008 11:59:57 AM
