my awesome mother has kindly gifted me a family heirloom sapphire ring in white gold (worn on my wedding dress as something blue)

it has 7 sapphires with middle stone as largest and 3 smaller sapphires (size of smaller ones are approximately 1/4 of a dime each) on both sides - the sapphires are all in a beautiful deep blue marquis cut and one of the 7 sapphires (smaller size) is missing

we went to a local, family owned jeweler who told us it was harder to source marquis cut and would call when found - they just called and gave a quote of $150 to replace + set stone and $75 to size ring to fit - I believe the price seems quite fair - have no photos to show as ring with jeweler and should have taken some but mom (in 80's) wanted to go spur of moment so off we went - love jewelry hence why here and especially love colored gemstones over diamonds - any advice as to fairness of price, how to know to best sapphire or any other advice that might be important to know?

thank y'all so much!

I would send it to David Klass for repair. He can have one of his cutters cut you a sapphire that will match.
