After a nice green jade cabochon

haha @suzanne2 this is like my junk thread! I usually use it to wail at Burmesedaze when I have a meltdown about something gem related (usually jade and jades necklaces!

You feel free to post whatever random junk you want! The more the merrier (and more entertaining!)

Hubs asked me the other day "So what's going on with the Time stone you're trying to buy? You've been at it for ages. You found one Thanos would approve of yet?"

***
On another note re splash backs, I have a glass one at home because I cook a lot and I cook inside and I cook oily asian food! I would mangle jade in a few months.

***

I used to wear my diamond pendant on a sturdy chain (halo so lots of metal at the back) and every time I'd leaned into the oven to check my food, forgetting about the necklace and pendant. The necklace would swing away from my neck and heat up. OMG the yelping that would take place as soon as the pendant hit my neck again! It was SOOOO HOT!!!!!!

I used to cook, now I don't cook at all...well, sometimes when hub won't cook and I'm starving...So here's my back splash lol.

Random curious question: Do you watch Chinese dramas?

Tonight is writing night. Clearly I'm procrastinating.

Mucho pricey and not very appealing greens.

Nope I don't watch them. I hardly get time to in Yangon to watch tv or stream stuff online.

They look horrific. Ok, I promise to post pics from the local fairs if my vendors allow. Think my regular ones will...

That store is a rip off but we like to stand outside and peer in at the stuff!

Wow, I love that big butterfly and those vibrant colors! Yes, I think you can definitely pull off the jade backsplash.

So light. Gem museum folks have it and cheaper too.

Really??? For how much???

Not that I have money but good for research!

I LOVE beads dammit! Your fault actually! Never knew about them until you!

A few hundred is my guess. The green is uneven. Youngish jade. Light side. Def o affordable!

Ya know, mellow, I will be in Singapore again next week for work. It's really bad timing you couldn't come for your holiday later!

The timing was so unfortunate but kid is back at school tomorrow so it was all we could work with.

@icy_jade so pretty but small beads right? Love the green though!

@Burmesedaze don't grizzle at me I'm not buying anything!

Can you look at this pic and tell me what your guess is of the size of the biggest looking beads?

Hers are usually small but I am very dodgey in terms of guessing bead size.

By the way I know what you mean by oversaturated photos.
Beads look green. Hand is very pink!

US$1750 goes some way towards built in cupboards!

What a coincidence. I was thinking of putting in a new built in cupboard with expanded storage for my bedroom at home.

Saw these online from a Mandalay seller. Both as a lot for under us$900. I think they have decent colour leaning towards the blue side of green which I personally like.

I can't fit into them though :P

:cry2:All these photos of jade bangles made me dig out my surviving one of a pair I bought when I was 13 in China. It doesn't fit! Measured the inside, and it's the standard 57mm. How did my hand get so fat?

Awww try the plastic bag method?

Did not work either :cry2: my bone that juts out from my pinky finger starts hurting, and I stop for fear it'll be too difficult to remove. I wonder if this will get easier if I lose weight?

I understand. No, if it's the bone, then however much weight you lose, it doesn't work. The bone doesn't shrink!

There are bangles around 62mm inner diameter that's also quite standard, but usually for more commercial grade/utility jadeite material.

Looks not precious know what I mean? Rather opaque and the green is non definitive.

I think I get you. A bit like a stone they'd use in one of the cheaper rings from the facebook jade lady.
