decided to de-lurk myself to ask you ladies about the pros and cons of airbrush vs. traditional makeup. What have you or will you use for your wedding day?
I had a makeup trial with airbrushing and about 3 - 4 hrs later I noticed lines on my forehead and around my eyes (a la Rachel Zoe). Without makeup, I don''t have these lines, so I''m guessing it''s from general facial movements as opposed to settling in fine lines (at least I hope so).

You know those flawless pictures we see of brides on their wedding day? How do you get that? I don''t normally wear makeup, so can this be done with regular makeup? Or do I need to ask the makeup artist for a re-do?

Are there other things to consider for makeup? For example, I''m getting married outdoors in August in California - is anything sweat-proof?

Please help with advice! Tell me what kind of makeup you used for your wedding or trial.

I just bought the luminess airbrush to try. I had the dinair one years ago but the make up was not oil free. It is supposed to stay on longer.

I can''t help with the lines, but there are things you can do to make you look last longer. Putting conceler or foundation on your eyelids before you put on eye shadow will make it last much longer.
Also, you can buy setting powder which is a colorless powder that absorbs oil and holds the make-up in place, it also reduces shine.

I got mine done at Mac and they did a great job at making it look flawless. Try there.

A good friend of mine had the airbrush makeup done and she looked absolutely flawless (she even slept in the makeup and looked amazing the next morning, haha). I do think they sprayed on a clear base layer to keep the makeup from settling in fine lines.

What the makeup artist told her is that if you have even the slightest bit of fuzz on your face, airbrush makeup is NOT for you. The makeup settles on the fuzz and makes it much more noticeable. I do have a little blond fuzz, so I went the traditional makeup route. I don''t tend to wear much makeup--I definitely don''t wear foundation--so it felt heavy to me, but looked good in pictures.

Same here, Lady. (Ha, it''s funny to just call you ''lady")

I don''t wear much makeup, so it felt really heavy. When I washed my face that evening of the trial, the water was so orangy from all that goop!!

i don''t know have you or anyone you know heard of Guerlain face powder? its a bit pricey... but it works like wonder ...... it basically highlights your face and the more you put it ... its just flawless n glowy not cakey, which is good.... i been using it for over 3yrs now and i still have alot left just to tell you its worth every single pennies... also it make my skin'' prettier than before for some reason... hmmm..also este launder powder is great too....very flawless... most professional make up artist use MAC products.... i only like their eye shawdow and eye liner but im not a fan of their foundation... its a bit too dry for me but if you want a flawless photo MaC foundation is def will make it flawless ...try to do some photo testing on your digital camera, see how it look...

If you''re thinking about doing your own makeup, primer is the secret!

I''ve found that using a primer after lotion but before my foundation makes my liquid makeup stay on all day and prevents the oil build up I usually have by mid afternoon. It also helps the color glide on more smoothly. My color also doesn''t rub off onto my skin and clothing as easily as it used to either.

For eyeshadow I''ve learned that primer is *the* only way to go. A swipe across each lid before putting on my eyeshadow keeps the color in place for my 12 hour work day and on into the evening. Before primer, my shadow always used to melt into my eye crease before lunch.

And for the lips, I''ve also finally figured out how to keep those lip stains working (after years of trial and error heeh). When applying any of the all day lip stains, it''s important to put them on dry clean lips but most importantly DON''T smack your lips together after application to spread the color out. It''s vital that you apply with the applicator and let it dry completely before doing anything else. Once your lips are dry, swipe on the lipbalm/sealant that comes with the stain (other glosses/balms can actually break down the stain) to lock in the color and be sure to apply just the balm throughout the day to continue to protect the color.

As you can tell, I''ve been experimenting with makeup in preparation for the big day ;) ehhe
