Airport security changes mans marriage proposal

PRINCE GEORGE, British Columbia - A man in Prince George, British Columbia, thought he had the perfect way to propose to his high school sweetheart. Instead of popping the question on a moonlit Caribbean beach this week, though, Aaron Tkachuk, 24, wound up popping the question to Jennifer Rubadeau, also 24, at an airport security screening station.



A screener at the Prince George airport, Adam Buhler, insisted on having a closer look at the contents of a small box in the toe of a sock. Inside the box was a white gold, diamond and ruby ring.

Tkachuk decided to propose on the spot, and other travelers and security personnel cheered as Rubadeau said yes.

Well at least she still said yes (and they got cheers!)

This is why PSers always tell the guys to put the ring in their pocket in order to get past security!

Well, at least it ended well.

Here is a story about a totally different outcome. I don''t know what I would have done...Then again, it''s probably a bogus story.

Oh bummer, he got airport security instead of a moonlit Caribbean beach?! Oh well, not as romantic as he''d planned, but hopefully they''re able to laugh about it.

Just think, the way it happened, it was a surprise for BOTH of them, not just one!

And maybe I'm cynical, but whenever I think of wanting a 'surprise,' this is the sort of scene that comes to mind. I can hear my mother's voice, "Well, you DID want it to be a surprise, didn't you? Be careful what you wish for!"
