But my mum just scolded me for wasting money.. Ah, Chinese mothers!! I'm glad that I'm now old enough to understand and read between the lines. I think it's a generational thing too. Although my mom will happily spend $200 on a haircut which I don't understand..

My Mom loved jade. Here's her heart pendant. I don't know if it's real jade or not. What do you think these inclusions are? They are really more of a blue in natural light.



My friend took the picture with her macro lens and a flash (to get the flaws). The background is supposed to be black.

Thanks. The design is very pretty, i like the loop over lines with diamond. Only wish I can find somebody willing to take the stone off from the old setting without break it.

Ajeweler would be able to take it out very easily without breaking it.

Here is the Red Pendant that I bought from Mason Kay. It's at my jewelers now waiting to be set as a pendant. Can't wait till it is done which will be in a few days. I will share it when it is done. Mason Kay has such beautiful jades.

I'm sure she's happy maybe she just don't want you to spent a lot of $$$ for her, my mom always spoiled me with a gift but when I gave her something she said better I save that $$$ and buy something for my self

The stone on the right is very small, but the setting somehow made it bigger.

Sorry, I never came back here after posting. I don't wander CS often. My ring was my grandmother's. I don't know anything about what type of jade or any treatments. Any idea where I can get that checked out? It's a hefty cabochon.

My grandma believes in jade changing colors from wear, but "tricks" them by sticking em in the vegetable bin in the fridge before she wears them. She swears they get more green from the heat of your body, so if the fridge makes them extra cold, it will feel more of the temperature contrast.

Madelise, It is really wierd because I just bought an icy white bangle from my favorite jeweler and it now is changing to lavender. Really hard to believe but the change is really happening. I have just had it for about a month. Lots of people say that it can't happen but it is really happening to me. Maybe grandmas really know best. LOL
