I keep peeking online at my registries to see what things are being purchased. I know I should be surprised and I will be pretty surprised because I don''t know who is buying what. My mother keeps yelling at me to stop but I can''t help it. Did anyone do this?

I did. And I''m not sorry

I do that too! Mostly because we're so far out that no one will be buying off the registries, and I still go on and edit/add things. But every time I do, I scan through to see if any of the "received" numbers read "1" instead of "0"

No one's bought anything off our registries yet (except me! oh, I'm so bad...). I think once that starts happening I'll stop checking in!

Maybe...

OK I feel good knowing that I am not the only one

I check our registries all the time. I keep changing one of them somewhat (adding things, taking things off that seem like they might go on clearance soon, etc.). So far only one thing has been bought from them -- a lamp which my sister and BIL gave us for Christmas.

hee hee, I check it all the time! FI thought I was nuts, but our neighbor said his wife did the same thing when they were getting married.
I am so excited, someone purchased our kitchen aid mixer!!!

I sure would have had there been online registries when I registered!

Hey HappyinLove, since we''re being married around the same time, can you tell me whether a lot of stuff has already disappeared from your registry? So far, people have only purchased 4 things from ours. So I wondered if it''s still reeeeally early, or if we''re going to be getting lots of envelopes (works for us!)

So, uh, yeah, I''ve been known to peek at our registry too. C''mon! Who wouldn''t be a little curious! OK, so we''re all greedy.

Indy,
My bridal shower is next saturday, so most of the things that are missing are for that I think... I am assuming things for the wedding wont be snatched up til April. I usually procrastinate when I am a guest at weddings, so I figure most of my guests will too!
And, as much as we really want the things on our registries, envelopes are DEFINATELY ok with us too

so hopefully there will be some!

Oh God, I checked all the time!

My friend and I would be on the phone and I''d be like "oh, someone bought my silverwear today" and we''d laugh...And it was so funny when things like my napkins would be purchased, except someone bought like 4 instead of 8...and we''d be like "who would do that, they were only $3 each!!!???" Because that would be the only thing gone from the registry that day (since I compulsively watched it, I knew). And then, at the shower or wedding, it would be like the mystery was solved when I opened a gift and inside was 4 napkins!

But, I was lucky. I designated my best friend as the only one I''d gossip about my registry too--and that was a good thing--because as it turned out, my other BM was the one bought the 4 napkins and put her mom''s name on the card too!

Oh Lord, I check mine allll the time. Yesterday I realized that someone bought the air-mattress we registered for at Target... but got the wrong size! I don''t have alot of use for a twin size which is why I asked for the queen. I dunno what I''ll do about it because Target won''t let us return it without a gift reciept and I don''t know if they will include it. *sigh* My wedding is May 17th and the shower is in 2 weeks so quite a few things have been puchased but not nearly as many as I would have thought with FI''s HUGE family.

I believe my shower is in 2 weeks. I would have thought more things would have been purchased by now but I also am aware of the fact that many people wait to the last minute. I also imagine that some people are not going to buy a gift because they will just give a gift card or money. And others will buy something that is not on the registries. I think the main thing is that people wait until the last minute to shop.

I did! And I recommend it because a couple of things were lost in the mail, or in the back room of the store, so it was good to keep track. Of course, I really didn''t know that until after the wedding because I just assumed I was going to get them later. But yeah, it was a good excuse at the time.
