I''m looking forward to tonight. I think from now on you really have to be on your game. Because disappointment with a preformance could lead to less interest in voting for a performer even if overall you think they are good. That Becky sure did need to go - if she didn''t Natalie Merchant may have come out of the rock she has been hiding under.

I think that "sucky Bucky" definetly has potential and I hope he shows us a better side on Wednesday.

The stylist start styling the top 12. They are left to their own devices until then. The only one that was "un-makeover-able" was that guy from last year. The big guy? What was his name. His voice was ok and he was on for a while. His name escapes me though.

Bucky has total makeover potential, so does Elliott. Nothing a good dentist, dermatologist, and stylist can''t fix! It''s a good thing they are in Hollywood though!

The previous girls were mostly mehs...the blonde girl with her Mariah song not loving it...but I liked the 2nd girl...McGhee or something? Nice smokey voice. Katherine McPhee...eh not loving it so much either.

Just say NO to Brenna!!!!!

I wasn''t really impressed with any of the girls'' performances tonight! The one that stood out for me was Paris. I felt she sang a beautiful version of "Wind Beneath my Wings" for her g.grandmother and for herself to showcase her vocals, but got dissed because of it! The judges'' opinions just seemed unfair to me because there she was, getting very emotionally involved in a song she sang VERY well, and they came back and said the song was appropriate for an older crowd. Boo! (IMO)

I thought Heather did a great job with "Hero," but she''s a little too "beauty pageant" for my taste.

Those really are the only two performances that stood out for me. I watched it almost 5 hours ago and those are the ones I remember....if that says anything!

Okay so Paris was great! Love those vocals and I liked hearing her showcase her voice this time and not do the jumpy dancy thing like last week as much!

Also...ummm Ayla was pretty good actually! I was surprised.

My fave Kellie Pickler did okay but nothing spectacular...hopefully she will get better as time goes on!

Oh and the Lisa girl, the young one, she was pretty good but she was kind of pitchy.

Mandisa has a great voice but her song was unremarkable for me.

I really want them to all start choosing some better songs for their voice! The only two that I felt actually showcased their talents and make them sound great was Paris and the Melissa McGhee girl, really liked her!

But not a hugely impressive night unfortunately!

Katharine McPhee: She has a beautiful voice. I don''t know this song. It bores me. I wish I were watching Tivo.

Kinnik Sky: Girl, if you tip your hat one more time...i''m gonna smack you! Song choice sucked, vocals are alright but she''s in the bottom two of the night for me. I was bored even though she tried to "show some personality." Bye Bye Kinnik.

Melissa McGuee: Loved it. The first performance so far that i''ve loved. Her voice is raw. I really liked it. The only thing that could hurt her is that she picked two country songs back to back. Last week Faith Hill, this week Reba. Show us what else you got girlfriend. I didn''t dig the outfit though. She''s got a great body, but there are other ways to showcase it.

Lisa Tucker: She''s got a great voice. She''s beautiful. She''s poised. She bored the heck out of me with that song. I can''t even remember what it was but I''m sure it was old school. I want to see her be mature but shoot for mid-20s. And PLEASE get rid of the star search expressions. You know what i''m talkin'' bout!

Ayla Brown: Why is everyone, including me, surprised that Ayla does well week after week. She did well, but I see what the judges are saying with that "mechanical" comment. Her voice is beautiful; she knows her range etc. etc. BUT it seems like every move is rehearsed. And I don''t buy the "this is the first time i''ve worn makeup and pretty clothes" bit. With a newscaster mother and a senator father you expect me to believe that you never donned a pretty dress or had makeup lessons? PUHLEEZE! Hasn''t she also not been performing for years? You always wear makeup for any performance so whatever!

Brenna Gethers: She sucked. She''s SOO arrogant but I think under all that arrogance is a very very very self-conscious person. Her song choice sucked again. There was no oomph to the performance. It was Meh (littlelysser, 3)! I think she''s afe for another week though. Sorry

Heather Cox: She is quite the beauty queen isn''t she. Great body! But girl, comon, if you''re an american idol self-described stalker you know the cardinal rule. Don''t choose stylised singers to cover. I am no fan of Mariah Carey''s personally but you can''t deny that she is a diva! She is one of the best singers in the world. That song did absolutely nothing for Heather. She was sharp on most high notes and flat on the low notes. Bye Bye Heather.

Paris: She looked like a little old lady. She kept talking about how she fit in because of her clothes in LA. I didn''t see that last night. She looked like her grandma. I mean her grandma is a beautiful woman for her age. Paris is 16; like Lisa, her age has got to come through a little. She sang it okay. I think it was overdone, over the top. I think she sang it for her grandma, which is sweet but... I didn''t like it. I was soooo bored.

Kellie Pickler: Either she''s really that sweet or she''s a good actress and manipulator. Either way, she''s got America and the judges in her back pocket. Can ya''ll breathe in there?! I know its tight. Want some calamari to tide you over? Anyways, I''m not a fan of the doe-eyed country girl. Her vocals, unlike Ayla''s, are raw. Her voice is pretty. She needs to work on controlling it in her upper range. Like Melissa McGuee, she picked another country song. Mix it up girl. I''d tone her hair down to a softer shade of blond too.

Mandisa: Good. Not Wow. Hated the hair. Hated the outfit. She does have a beautiful face. Did you notice Paula said that to Mandisa? And to the other girls she says, "You look fabulous tonight." Anyways.

I was totally and completely bored watching. It so could have been over in an hour. I hope the boys bring it.

Whew, that was a pile of steaming meh. And fashion wise, it was a huge steaming pile of yuck.

On my opinion, Mandisa and Melissa were the best...but that does not mean too much. And Ayla was nothing to sneeze at either. However, being dubbed the best steaming pile of meh is not worth a lot.

Despite Melissa''s very unfortunate rather hoochified outfit choice, I thought she did a very nice job. She way my favorite of the night. Her voice has a really good sound to it. (is that the technical term? Sound? I am not bright).

Apparently Paris and Mandisa were both competing in the dowdy grandma dress olympics...and I think Paris won. I liked the song she picked, but I agree that she and Lisa, of the unfortunate yellow tubetopshirtdressthingie, sang beyond their years and lost a lot of what made them so good and likeable. Lisa also struck me as being rather pitchy...

Brenna has got to go. She is all attitude and no likability. Although I will admit that I liked her hair and I loved the song she picked. Last Dance is one of my favorite at a wedding getting ready to go home songs. But luckily, it is Donna SUmmer (right?) singing the song and not our dear dear Brenna.

I''m not feeling Kellie Pickler so far. Loved her in the auditions...but she hasn''t really done much the last two weeks. At least her outfit didn''t burn my eyes. I also didn''t care for Kellie Pickler part deux, who sang the Mariah Carey song. I am rather opposed to Mariah as a general rule...and singing one of her songs poorly will not win any points with anyone.

Kinnik - She was really trying out there...but it just didn''t work. I like her. And because I think she''s going to be in the bottom two tonight, I probably should have voted for her. But I didnt.

Katherine McPhee was really boring tonight. And her top was not flattering. Made her look slight bloated and weird. Mean but true. SHe''s a cute girl...that flowy hippie thing did not work.

Moral of the story...I think the contestants are definitely in need of the style help that comes later in the competition. And perhaps some help with song choices wouldn''t hurt either.

Ugh - that was 1.5 hours I won't get back. Well - luckily for me I have a DVR and so it was more like 45 minutes but still.
I can't even remember many of the songs - which I guess is a good thing cause I do remember them not being too good.

I remember the outfits more than the signing -
Kathryn - girl you have a big butt. That's cool - but having a big floaty shirt that cuts off right at the hips paired with what looked like really long stretchy bike shorts is NOT really a complementary look for your body.

Kinnik - nice try at "standing out". I'm not really buying the country chick look from you and You get one of my votes for BUH BYE

Melissa - ok so you toned down the trampy make up a bit. You are looking a little less harsh. Not really digging the outfit but hey your song was one of the very few performances we didn't immeadiately fast forward past. So good job - hope you continue to improve and switch it up!

Lisa - little girl #1 - personally I like this little girl better than I like Paris. She comes across as confident in her abilities, not cocky. She's very cute - but the outfit was a bit weird and reminded me of Whitney Houston from that "Don't you wanna Dance" video from way back in the 80s before Whitney turned into a crack ho.

Ayla- I think she did great - I like her hair straight better - she needs a little help with makeup - and something to wear that doesn't make her look like she is a freaking giant robot.

Brenna - I can't even look at her without getting pissed off. The hair is obnoxious - the dress was a disaster - really she didn't look that back in previous weeks but this week all I could think the dress was stretchy and tight in all the wrong places. ick - you get my vote for BUH BYE

Heather - yeah. not much to say - I'm guessing you are going Buh bye if america chooses to deny me my dream of Brenna going home.

Paris - you.looked.weird. Weird and old. We all know you aren't going anywhere so please stop dressing in your grandma's outfits just cause she was famous once.

Kellie - I really want to believe that you are as cute and naive as you come off. Not sure if I do though. But you're cute, you sang ok and everyone loves you. see ya next week

Mandisa -- ok - let's be honest - you are really pretty, especially when you have your hair down. When you dress in mumus with sequins and pull your hair all back you look about 30 years older and about 30 pounds heavier.

Of course I love all the girls (well, not you Brenna) and wish them the best of luck but PLEASE don't make me sit through another week of having to critique your outfits so that I don't claw off my own face in boredom.

That girl can sing and her parents are the two cutest people I''ve ever seen in my life. FOX should adopt them and do a new Cosby show. I have no idea what this girl sang. I just know it was the only performance I got through without cringing at least once.

#2 -- KELLIE PICKLER
She annoys the calimari right out of me. Her puppy dog look leaves me cold & wanting to invest in mascara companies. But: last night her performance was probably the most "entertaining". She did Bonnie Raitt proud, sang so hard she didn''t seem to notice her hair was in her face most of the time, and kinda worked it out.

#3 -- KATHERINE MCPHEE
I can tell I must have liked it a little because HERS is the song I''ve been singing around the house this a.m. (All Is Fair In Love??) Which reminds me - when I was down in DC this weekend, I was singing in the car and my sister said "Time to turn on the radio." Beee-atch. Oh ... and I agree with Callet about the "preggers" look on McPhee. Who knows? Maybe the gal is knocked up!

She''s my dark horse favorite. I get the feeling she might sneak up on everyone like Kelly Clarkson did.

I came up with belliott because my friend has a jack russell dog who is chunky and we call him Belliott (his name is Elliott). It just fit!

I agree the girls outfits were kind of out there for the most part. The amazing thing is that someone like Kellie who comes from a shack in the country typically looks the cutest and most simple!! So many of the other girls just OVERDO IT. But I am kind of over that top Kellie wore last nite, I think it's the same style as like 5 of her other tops. I did feel bad for her when she said that most of the dogs in LA have more clothes than her though so I figured I wouldn't diss her clothes.

OMG and I also agree that while watching Brenna I was thinking holy crap has she blossomed? She did not look as soft last week for sure, maybe it was just a bad wardrobe choice but even her legs looked big and bloated. Not a flattering choice at all.

Lastly thought the same thing re: Katherine and her weird outfit, from that back shot they gave, yikes!! Just say no to biker shorts and a flowing top.

Boys are tonite right? We'll see!!!

The whole I'm a country girl from Albemarle that Kellie did really turned me off!! C'mon, Albemarle is about a 30 minute drive from Charlotte. You mean that girl has never been to an Olive Garden or Red Lobster in her life? I dunno, I'm not sure about that one. Is she the one who wore what looked like a maternity top last night? My DH kept saying that she looked pregnant.

I love Mandisa but I wish she would pick better songs.

yeah they did that last year too - I think with Scott? And as much as I would like to blame them for all the poor choices I have a hard time thinking that people who claim to dislike american idol would expend so much energy watching (to see the phone numbers for their contestant of choice) and then dialing to vote. I''m guessing they give that contestant an added nudge but really there have to be other people voting for them to stay after a while.
