An Update! YAY!

This is also posted in the August 4th topic also, but since it is way down on the list i think it gets lost and so from now on i will just start a new topic everytime i find out something new instead of posting it to the topic I created a week ago etc. so that it doesnt get lost in the sea of topics!

So an update!
B and I went to teach band/colorguard practice tonite. So I just got home. When he came to pick me up to go he was all super affectionate unlike he usually is and since we get paid differently from the director of the band, he always asks us at the beginning of every season if we would like all of our money at once or in parts etc. B told me that he said yeah that he would like $200. Ok so kind of random..maybe he needs it to meet the price of a certain sparkly item...? hmmm.. and then i was being mean to him and he said, "you better watch out and be nice...no engagement ring for you!" Ok, B never talks about the whole engagement thing as much as he has been lately. And then here is the real kicker....we were driving and he looks down at my one hand and he says "you dont have your nails done...well then what if im going to ask you to marry me?" OK he NEVER comments on my nails and such! I always point out how done there are or arent and he just says "oh yeah" He has just been more about engagement lately. Not me bringing it up. I havent mentioned anything about it since Saturday night! Looks like someone has finally gotten bit by the engagement bug! I think i smell a sneaky rat....

Man that bug bit him HARD! LOL how cute. Isn''t it funny how guys think they are being sneaky but we all know when something is up. Before my FSIL''s FI proposed to her he bought her flowers like 3 times in one week....she knew something was up.

nah, he wont ask me this weekend. I'm thinking august 4th. I posted about it in a post from a week ago about how he wanted me to go but we couldnt and then now that we can he is all about the rings etc. but obviously he is just moving along about the whole engagment thing and getting it all ready for the big day of August the 4th. lol. Which is fine by me! Hey maybe if he buys the ring before then..then he wont be able to wait! He seems pretty antsy and I love making him feel like that! I must make him pretty nervous!

So the answer to the nail appt is a big fat no! I have been diong my nails fake and the gel overtop by myself, saves so much money! I got a pro kit in January Brisa its called and i love it so much! But i recently took them off in June cuz the middle of my nail hurt very bad and they were so sore so since then i have been trying to heal them and grow out naturally....about 3 of them so far have broke vertically down the middle!!

So a few of them grew out under my fake nails and were fine and are strong and some of them broke down the middle and hurt and some of them have vertical dips in the middle and that i have grown to find out that that means it is only a matter of time that they too will split down the middle!

So i cant go get a manicure cuz they arent even a little grown out, 4 of them are ok to do a french on and the other ones are all the way down to the meat and it would look weird. I have been putting nail oil on them daily and also have sally hansen;s hard as nails on them..they are ok but still some are split!
so do any of you ladies know anything i can do to help my nails get healthy and strong again? I heard of soaking them in KNOX gelatin but any other ideas? I need them to look pretty for when he asks...

PS: I just got a text on my cell from my bf while sitting at work...it said "hey baby..i love you." WOW

He NEVER texts me usually! hey, maybe he was at the jewelry store. He has been so much more affectionate lately it is amazing! like he is always thinking of me! and he is always smiling at me when we are together! I love it!

And he thinks that i dont notice any of his weirdness!

ok, i went on there and it says to use other formula 2 after i finish with the formula 2 plus. etc. what do i need? I dont want to buy all this and find out that i only need 1 bottle of it....is it like a clear polish? my torn nails get caught on stuff if i dont have clear on them becuase they are split..so what all do i absolutely need? thanks!

Sparkly: OUCH!! That sounds so painful. Do you think it is from the stuff you have being using to "DIY" your nails all the time??

I''m going to do some research to see what that is all about. I have VERY thin nails (we''re talking bend back when wet from a shower), but they have NEVER split down the middle. I worry it''s from your kit.

FYI: I love those random lovey dovey texts in the middle of the day

that sounds like a plan meresal! We can all work through this together! I just need some solution or polish that helps them! I have a 99.9 percent thought that my nails splitting is from my pro nail kit and that is what they use in the salon that i went to before i bought the stuff and DYId it, which is scary. and its not like i did it wrong either. i studied and tried it out before i jumped right into it. I think that a lot of it is because i kept them on for so long and my nails never got a chance to "breathe". We can do this together! haha

That''s exactly what I bought, and just follow the directions. I wouldn''t consider it a "nail polish" but it''s kind of shiny. You just apply once a day for a week, and then you slow that down to every other day.. and so on.

Application:
Turn bottle upside down and roll between the palms of your hands to blend ingredients. This will prevent air bubbles which could prevent nail protein from adhering properly to the nail.

Apply one thin coat of nail protein. For best results, wash nails with soap and water to assure the nail is free from any substances (oil, creme, etc.) which may prevent your nail protein from adhering properly.

Allow hands to lay flat for 30 seconds to allow the protein to set and prevent it from rolling onto the cuticle.

Per your prescribed instructions, reapply over existing coats of protein and/or color polish.

Removal:
Remove nail protein with Nailtiques Non-Acetone Remover.
Wash nails thoroughly with soap and water prior to application.

For initial treatment, apply one coat without nail polish. Re-apply daily over existing coats of protein until your nails improve and feel stronger. As your nails improve, apply every other day. Remove protein weekly or as necessary (3-4 days) with Nailtiques Non-Acetone Remover. If wearing polish, apply as a base coat every other day. Remove weekly with Nailtiques Non-Acetone Remover.
