My cousin is getting married in two weeks. I am unable to attend the wedding, but will be attending the rehersal dinner, with my family (parents and brother). My family will be giving her a generous check. Should I give her a present on my own, or just sign my name to the family card? I don''t know her well enough anymore (we were closer when we were younger) to get her something personal, so it would just be something off her registry.
I''m 26 and don''t live with my family, if that affects your opinion. Thanks!

If the invitations to the rehearsal and wedding were addressed to you individually, I think you should get a seperate gift, although it can be a token, not something outrageous. But if you were invited with your parents as part of "The Jones family," I think it is appropriate to sign your name to the card with the rest of the family.

ditto rembedee....

Thanks for the advice, I was kind of leaning that way, but wanted some other opinions.
