Hi Everyone,

I'm new here and I dying to find out any information about these earrings I just bought. They have 18k gold ear wires, seed pearls, faceted and smooth cabochon amethyst stones as well as enamel detailing. They are quite large with hinges and the design is on the front and on the visible interior of the hoops. I'm guessing they are Georgian? But I haven't seen much enamel in Georgian jewelry. Hmm. They were very tarnished when I bought them but a simple polish removed the tarnish and left what appears to be brass. I'm thinking maybe they are 18k gold plated?

Any info or ideas would be appreciated. Thank you!

Matte gold finish, bezel-set stone, and rope outlines - the style looks Etruscan to me. Etruscan style jewelry was apparently popular in the mid-to-late 1800’s, then again in the late 1900’s.

Thank you - I think you're right - it's just the enamel that is throwing me off. Still adore them no matter what!
