This is my basic "plan" that I''ve been working on forever and have actually sent out for a custom quote...if anyone has any advice to add, I''d really appreciate it! I''m thinking about a 1ct center...

I love the swirling scroll engraving...and diamond halos, but have really long hands and fingers so I don''t want a teeny delicate setting because they get lost on my finger! I''m also active and a tad accident prone, so it needs to be sturdy and everthing needs to be protected, which is why I love the bezel!

Should I have a few little diamonds tucked in the shank for more sparkle?

I know I''m obsessing, but I so want it all to be perfect!

It sounds perfect for you! Halos can be quite pretty!

Good Luck!

You looking for a thicker shank? Mine is a 4mm Shank. I love it... Just food for thought..

I like the comfort and the way it feels very secure.

Mine...

How does the shank "meet" the cente partr...the side views?

Here is a picture of the side view.. The little ''holes'' are just the reflections of the diamonds. I had the stone set on prongs, but if the stone had been smaller it would have been bezel set. It is low so it is ''safe'' when I am active. Yet it sits up high enough for the wedding band to fall flush against the ring... I have two 2mm W-bands with .17tcw diamonds on them.. just to add a little bling to it.

Here is another pic of the thicker shank

I''m a teeny bit worried about going too wide when with a 6-6.5mm stone! Do you think the shank will overpower it? Yours stone is so big that it stands out and looks so stunning! What are the measurements on that baby again...I''m too lazy to look!

The stone is a 7.9mm. But if I had bezel set it, it would have had to be a 6.5-7mm.Keep in mind that the bezel makes the stone look huge. YOu could go down a mm if you think it is too thick ( on the band) I think there was a thread at one time on rings with thicker shanks. You could do a search and maybe see what pthers have done with certain size stones and see if it would look alright. I think it would be very nice IMHO.

Do you have a pic with your diamond bands on your ring?

I think a 3.5mm would be nice on a 6.5mm ring...it would be a substantial and slightly more modern piece. My e-ring shank is 2.9mm but it doesn't look that wide...so going up to 3.5 would give you a slightly more substantial feel but not a huge shank.

I suppose I''m going to have to go to and try on some different widths to get a good idea of the size before I actually bite the bullet and have it made! I meant to go to Tiffany''s this week, but didn''t make it! Now I actually have a real excuse to go!
