well...we just finalized the diamond and setting today! The wax cads will be done this Wed. then if I approve of everything...the ring will be ready in 4-5 days ...not a turkey day proposal but soon enough...DUST to everyone else

Wow I thought for sure there''d be at least one engagement post by now. Maybe not a full album of handshots yet but a quick update from someone at least...


Speaking of proposals and weddings, one of my cousins told me on Thanksgiving that I wasn''t allowed to get married until she has a boyfriend since both of our similarly aged female cousins are married. She said she wasn''t going to sit at a table with a bunch of married people by herself, and the only other option was sitting with our brothers (who are a few years younger and good friends - who we love but think are ridiculous together) and she for sure wasn''t going to do that haha she''s so funny. So I guess I have yet another aspect to add to my timeline haha. She''s drop dead gorgeous so I doubt she stays on the market very long so I''m not particularly worried about it.

I got home today from shopping, and he asked me to sit on the couch because he wanted me to hear something pretty. He then played me a song on his guitar that he wrote, asking if I''d "do the honor of marrying him". I love him so much!

I lost my phone and need to go tell my mom, but here is a quick picture I was able to get.

Here''s a bad hand shot in the bathroom- I live in Maine and it is already dark, so no chance of any outdoor light shots.

More and better pictures to follow in the next couple of days. I love the color of the stone!! It''s a really deep purple with lots of red flashes, especially in incandescent light!

It''s a purple sapphire- I had posted an earlier thread in colored stones because I was worried about the window in the stone. There still is one, but it''s smaller and doesn''t matter because I love it
