Any feedback on the best vendors to get quotes for a simple, small diamond pendant with a MRB?

I am considering purchasing a small diamond pendant for myself. I would probably want to stay at $1,000 or under, but I'm not sure how realistic this is. I would probably want a basic four prong setting in white gold or platinum, and I think that I would prefer that the pendant to be moveable on the chain instead of fixed. As far as a stone, I think I would want a G or above (my engagement ring stone is a G VS2). What are you thoughts about clarity in a stone for a pendant compared to a ring? And the size I am thinking of is something in the .30 or .40 range. Would that be noticeable enough for a pendant? I would like to wear this piece everyday or almost everyday. I emailed IDJ for a quote, but does anyone have any other suggestions to look for vendors?

Have you looked around at places like Blue Nile? You can build your own pendant and get an idea of what size stone you can get with a style of setting you like. For instance I just grabbed a stone and a setting from their site, (not necessarily recommending either) as an example for you that comes in just over your budget. It would at least give you something to compare to any quotes you receive from the vendors you contact.

This is not exactly what you're looking for, but it gives you an idea of pricing for a 0.4ct in a 4-prong setting.

I think 0.3-0.4ct is a great size for a daily pendant. For clarity in a pendant, an eye-clean SI works for me.
