Any new Leon Mege''''s Coming Soon?

It''s pretty Charmy, but it doesn''t sound like what you really want. Can you get a pretty basket design like you were hoping for? That is a pretty expensive setting, I''m amazed you can''t get closer to what
your dream ring is.

Did you talk to Leon and tell him what your budget is and what elements you most wanted? I so understand your feeling about just wanting it to be done and quit thinking about it. I have felt that way so
many times over the past year while I was trying to decide, and frustrated that I couldn''t come up with exactly what I wanted, but that feeling does pass. I promise!

It will be a beautiful ring if that is what you chose, but take some time and make sure.
I will be honest - my budget for the setting isn''t small and actually is very generous. The two other settings I want is just very difficult to make and the price is really high. We talked it over and the effort is just too great for him to lower the price. He feels if I remove elements from that design to reduce the price - I woudln''t be happy with the end result. The compromise is the setting we are going with.

It''s ok - I think I am happy with this design. It''s more simple and not too crazy. I still think it is really expensive though but maybe I am getting a PITA price :P

On another note, I just got the video''s of my AVC''s from GOG and I LOVE THEM! I immediately called and completed the purchase. They couldn''t be a more perfect match. I got to totally thank you dreamerd for your recommendations of the AVC''s and I feel really blessed to be able to own both AVC''s and a regular ole antique Cushion... it''s like the best of all worlds. *hugs to all my PS buddies*
Your AV OECs are GORGEOUS! I love them ...

Charmy, I LOVE it! I hope you do. All that Pave will be beautiful!

Luv, Congrats on 30!!!! woo hooo!!! Your hubbie sounds wonderful!

I'm home now so I'm going to hunt for that picture (of 5 cushions). We have too many computers, I'm not sure which one it is saved on.

Holy Cow Missy!!!! I can't get over the ways those stones shine alike as they are tilted this way and that. I guess that's the august cushion? WOWSA. You are going to look like a Movie Star!!

Missydebby are you getting round stones or cushion shaped. The original picture looked cushion shaped but the link is round. Are those your very own stones?

Cushion... they had an oopsie with the typings

Oh. My. Gawd.... This is the ring ring to end all cushion rings... Dayum Gurl!!!! (like I said TCP on your finger)

I can see why he was so excited... couldn't be a better fit... and you know what, I'm glad you went with it. You always have to take a leap of faith with the guy

Missy & Charmy, Thank you, Thank you. I still can''t quite believe it myself. I''m excited yet anxious. If only it didn''t take so loooonnnnggg. Finding a jeweler, took almost 6 months (it took me 4 to find pricescope and start reading). It took about a month before we chose a stone (and finalized the purchase - we all know Leon doesn''t really get serious on the design until you have the stone). Then back & forth on the design (seems like forever, but then again, I might have been lucky and done it in a month or 2). And nowwwwww another 6 weeeeeeeks. No wonder you ladies are buying other things to tide you over. Me, I just keep jumping on the treadmill, going to the gym to get in shape for summer. Lifting finger weights - ha, ha.

Know what''s funny? Go look at your picture again... I see 3 little french cuts in the bottom right corner looking up jealously at the Cushion Siblings.

Vb- your ring is going to be stunning! OH MY GOSH are those some gorgeous stones! All these cushion rings are sure making me wish I had one! I can''t wait to see it! Did you add any pave to your ring?
I cant remember if you said that or not. My original sets (first two) were in yellow gold also and I have really enjoyed wearing platinum for the last couple of years. It has such a nice weight to it.

Charmy, I am glad you are happy with it. It will be a beautiful ring. Let''s face it, Leon doesn''t make ugly ones! I love that style! Did you order a wedding band from him or are you going to wait on that?
It does feel good to have the matter settled, now you can sit back and go crazy waiting like the rest of us. I think Wintotty will get hers first, poor Debbie is waiting the longest. I think there should be a
special prize for that! Oh wait, she got it. Those gorgeous AVC''s for earrings!

Missydebby, I STILL can''t get that video to come up! Darn I want to see!

aha! you saw them! The story: I told you how SMITTEN I was with yours and Wintotty's french cut sets. The uniformity and preciseness of those sets set my whole being on fire!! But alas, they were spoken for. So one of the intermediate designs was the center stone the 2 on the far outside and then about 5-7 of those french cuts down the sides of the shaft. I was being very picky though and kept insisting to Leon that they had to match precisely to give the illusion of your set. Even though the stones were not cut the way yours were to match, he was going to take care in the selection and layout, but I think he knew I had reservations. It was not long after he came up with the 2 new stones # 2 & 3 on each side of the center and he shut me up! LOL

oh Charmy I DOOOOO love your setting. If I didn't have my 2 new middle sidestones I think I would be copying you! I'm not doing pave on the ring, I think it might be too much. I didn't used to be a pave person, but Leon's pave has totally won me over. I have a sapphire that needs resetting and I think I just might have to do pave. But if I'm gaga over this ring when it comes, I might send the sapphire to Leon and ask him, ok, so, "What should we do?"

ooooooh! LtlFirecracker, I can''t wait to see that! I want that band, it will match my ring. Leon suggested to me the double helix ring, that I will be able to wear it with my solitaire. My ring will be 2.2 mm
as well.

I ordered the 313 Ashley with a spacer band. It should come about the first of June or so. I am so missing my diamond and going nuts over the wait. There is nothing that really keeps my mind off it,
or distracts me.
Luv, I love your setting. It was one of my maybe''s b4 my final choice. He makes soooo many beautiful rings!!! so hard to choose, then wait, and wait, and wait. You will be getting your ring on my anniversary!

Thanks, Vb-It was my second choice originally. One of the first rings I saw on PS was the famous Reena''s ring, and my heart skipped a beat. I was so very sure I was going to get that one. I have more
pictures of it on my computer and I printed a ton on photo paper just so I could stare at it. I have showed it to everyone from my hairdresser to my in laws. When my 11 best friends come to my house
for bunco, I made them stare at it as well! But in the end, I knew I wanted a band with it. I would have never considered myself a pave girl either, but there is something so precise about Leon''s pave. I am
a Leon lurker and have stared at his rings for long lengths of time. The precision is perfect and amazing. There are others who have lovely pave-but it doesn''t hit me the same as Leon''s for some reason.
Not too many people have had problems with missing pave from his rings either. My daughter has lost about a third of the pave from her ring, and doesn''t have the money to fix it and it makes me so
sad. She really needs a whole new ring made.

I just wish there were others on this site who had this ring made with a round. Can''t find a single one. Truly all the rings I am drawn to on Leon''s site are cushions and maybe a couple radiants. But when I
was choosing I wanted the biggest face up size, and that was found in rounds, plus I love the fire. But when I see rings, it is usually the cushions that take my breath away. Yours will be wonderful. You have
so many gorgeous stones that you won''t need any pave.

The wait is torture. It was the one thing that almost made me have my ring made by Brian. I love his designs as well, but I was drawn to this bubble style of basket and I knew he would not copy a Leon
trademarked design, so I had to bite the bullet.

Pretty soon I am going to start counting the number of sleeps!
9.gif
I have a busy couple of weeks. Several friends of kids are having bridal showers, and I am having my bunco party on the 22nd,
and school is almost out!!!!! Hurrah, no more making school lunches and rushing in the morning. I want to do the dance of joy over that one. Only 5 more years and I won''t have to do that ANYMORE!!!!
My oldest is 27, so I have been at this a long time. So I am trying to focus on these things and get a baby quilt done for my best friends daughter, whose baby came a couple weeks ago. Funny, none of
these things can keep me from thinking about and worrying about this project!

I haven''t bought any new bling, like miss wintotty, although I am seriously tempted but I did buy some fake ones! Missydebby''s are going to be fab as well. Geez I think I must need therapy!

omg we are sooo alike. Part of the reason this all took so long is we started looking at rounds!!! loving the face up size!!! oh same agony!!! Then there was something about all these cushion rings I saw on ps. It was terrible trying to find some where I live to see in person. Thank goodness for GOGs videos. I felt bad about not going to see them personally. At the time, I knew they were very good, I just didn''t see anything on their website in the size we were looking. I should have called. But it bugged me that I couldn''t compare immediately. Oh well, we women are sometimes impossible to deal with. Yes! 14 more days of school & I''m out! My oldest is 22 in college (6 yr program), but not little ones. Ahhhh I want to buy something else. I''m almost tempted to get a cz necklace or something. ohh, the wait.

Well, at one point I was kicking myself for not going to GOG for my center stone becuase of how much knowledge I got from their videos. But now I know something that would have stopped me anyway... that I''d have to pay NY sales tax if I bought from GOG and had them bring it to Leon. (They are both in NY) Since I was absolutely CERTAIN I wanted a Leon ring, I feel it was a good choice for me to just have it all done under one roof and his watchful eye.

Wintotty, did you have GOG drop off your AVC at Leon''s?

Anywho, now that I''m getting the earrings, I am also having them done completely at GOG, for the same tax reasons.

Luv, I think your Round will be gorgeous, and I, for one, am super excited to see what he does with that shape. Rounds are awesome and have fire and character like non other.

I am just gonna die until I see all these rings!!!

missy how are you avoiding the tax now without having the item shipped out of ny?

Luv, your round is going to be gorgeous, I hope it doesn't make me regret the cushion road. Don't get me wrong, I like my stones, even love them, but a round is soooo classic. And the FACE is always amazing on a good round! Leon needs opportunities to do more than cushions to show his expertise isn't confined to cushions. You will have a ring that's gorgeous - can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!

Yeah, I like rounds and they're classic and they're what my FF and I have decided are perfect for her... but I'm such a fan of AVCs I'm thinking about eventually doing a ~6mm stone in a tension set band (of matching width) for myself. Those chunky facets are just mindblowing!

cause it''s an internet purchase and it''s leaving the state... if I bought on the net and picked them up in person in NY or have them dropped off in NY then tax.

luv, your setting was what I was going to do with my cushion, until Leon suggested something else. I''m REALLY looking forward to see your GORGEOUS ring like it''s my ring!

I also went back and forth of choosing between WF ACA Round and GOG AVC for a while, my first ring was Round, and I just really fell in love with AVC and AVC was much cheaper than buying ACA Round for the same size. It''s OK, I just got the ACA fix in the studs and the bracelet
31.gif

Missy, I had GOG sent the stone to me first because I was undecided of the setting. I always wanted Leon''s setting, but like many people said here I wasn''t sure if I can wait for 6 weeks. At the end I convinced myself that it''s worth it. I already spend pretty penny buying a spectacular diamond and it''s not fair to the diamond if I settle for something I was OK with.

Agreed. I don''t think it''s possible to get a less than spectacular ring from Leon, even if it ends up in a totally different direction than what you first intend. I mean, look even at his simplest, metal only cathedral... somehow the proportions and miniscule changes are just so right and alive.

That''s it, Wintotty! My direction is now crystal clear! I simply need some cushion earring like MissyDebby! However, when I mention this to my ever patient and bling tolerant husband, he might blow a
vein!

Really, I have been seriously contemplating some BGD bezel studs between .37-75 points each. I bought some white flash -ready,set, go- earring for my daughter for christmas one year, and every time
I see them flash in her pretty ears, I think, ''I want some of those!''. So today, I ordered some half carat each fakies to see if I like the size. I have never really been that crazy about studs. I have some
ideal cut cluster earrings, and I thought I would be good with that. I love Brian''s bezels. They are small and light looking, and look so clean to me.

Wintotty, we need ear shots, and wrist shots. Did you post them somewhere that I missed?

PS is the best thing ever for these diamond guys... no need to even sell to us... we just do it for them!!!

Luv, I''m sorry, but you will just have to get earrings and join the Waiting for Our Rings club we got going up in here

can;''t wait until these projects are done!!!

Sorry Missy, I thought when you came back to the states, you were going to NY to get the ring. My bad.

no bad... I wrote that before I realized about the sales tax. So I''ll have him send it to me.

Forgive my naiveness in advance.

Why does everyone love Leon Mege so much? He doesn''t seem to have TOO much on his site to look at (or maybe I''m looking in the wrong place) so I can''t quite figure out why everyone loves his work so much. I''m not quesitoning or judging just asking because I do not know and am now very interested after seeing this thread. Does he tend to take your designs and kind of go whichever way he feels like?

icetea maybe you are looking in the wrong place, his site has TONS of rings?

for example if you click on solitaires there are like 6 pages of those...

i think the reason people like him is that he does very nice pave work and matches sidestones well
(just my opinion, i do not own a Leon piece but I have browsed the forums and they are beautiful!)
