Hi all,
Just got back from Hong Kong last week. I purchased two platinum(???) wedding bands, I thought I got great deal on them. Two rings for under $700 USD, I thought what a steal!!! But now I''m wondering if what I bought is really platinum. I went into the store (Luk Fook) or something like that, they seemed to be pretty reputable at least my fiancee (she''s a local there) thought they were, I saw several branch companies. The salesman told me they were 24K white gold, which I new enough that there is no such thing. So I thought maybe it was translation or culture language problems. I continued to tell him I''m not looking for "white gold" I was looking for something that was .900 or .950 Pt. Which then he points out that the rings he was showing me were Pt .9995 which I was able to to see inscribed in the rings. So of course I thought even better and bought them. The rings are a mettalic grey they feel heavy like gold maybe a little heavier. So now I''m wondering is what I bought really platinum or palladium or something else. Anybody have any experience buying from this vendor? Or know of any test I can do for the rings.
