Anyone heard of hiring an MC by themselves?

Have a DJ already. Relative actually. Kinda late and rude to cut them loose now. Have you heard of MC''s who don''t come with a DJ?

My DJ has an assistant that he brings to bigger receptions. Why can''t your DJ/relative also be the MC?

This is a good idea (have the DJ also be the MC). If that doesn''t work, could you hire an actor to do the job? I''m not sure where you live, but they''re certainly plentiful here in NYC.
