Anyone watching H&M (lol)

Another thing I dont understand with the mental health issue is that Prince William is a proponent of supporting
mental health issues. He (and I think Harry) were trying to take away the stigma and bring it out to the forefront. I dont
know who H&M talked to about getting her help but it seems like they should have kept going up the line until
someone got her help. IMO, they shouldn't have stopped trying and if it came down to it they should have gotten
a flight back to the states to get her help (this was during covid so not sure what was going on aviation-wise at this point).
Couldnt she have gotten help via Zoom if they didn't want someone showing up at the front door of the castle? Anyway,
I don't think they should have taken No for an answer. Harry failed her IMO.

Harry even admits he failed her in that circumstance. Also the guilded cage metaphor is apt here - as a working royal you cannot just hop on a plane or drive a car wherever. Yiu don’t even keep your passport.

At this point they have been whining about the BRF longer than she was part of it. I find the idea of spending 30 million on a wedding and 1 million in one year on clothes and then complaining about that and their free accommodation ungrateful and out of touch.

Am not racist about her, just think that she is an awful and self centred person.

This is where it’s hard to say (the millions spent) bc when I look that up it’s all in gossipy articles so how can we really know the truth? And Kate has some designer duds as well for sure…

The wedding cost millions. How many millions, we may never know but undeniably millions right?

Clothes because outfits for every appearance is reported, and she likes her branded goods. Even if not a million, we are talking hundreds of thousands.

Even if we cut all estimated costs by half, it’s still a staggering amount.

I've only watched two episodes so far and haven't paid much attention otherwise. I'm also keeping in mind that this series is probably all from Harry's and Meghan's perspective only. I don't really have any opinions on it yet.

What struck me so far is just what a nightmare it must be to have reporters and others chase after you every time you step outside of your house. Especially considering how Harry's mother died. And the unbelievable number of things they're expected to show up for, then stand there smiling and waving for hours. Gee, I thought if you became a royal, you'd be far more pampered than that!

I've only watched the first two episodes as well and my first take away is how horrible and intrusive the press is.
As for Harry and Meghan's story, I'm in the camp that there are almost always two sides to every story, and the truth is generally somewhere in the middle. Everyone sees their own story through their own eyes. I think they believe what they are saying as it is their own truth to themselves. And the other side probably does the same. I think that is human nature.

No, being a royal involves work. Not the kind of work the rest of us are used to but work nonetheless. It is not a job many would want even though it comes with many perks. The press is an issue constantly but that was a well known fact. I agree they should have the right to live without that constant in your face thing but I don’t think that will ever change. All things to be strongly considered before making the decision to become part of the royal family.

And if you look up Kate and William it says 30 million, and if you look up Diana and Charles it says 70 million when adjusted for inflation, and on and on. I don't think any of the royals are doing things on the cheap.

Add in the thinking that some members of the British public and some members of the tabloid press think that they "own" the BRF because the BRF is paid for (in part) by the British taxpayer. You now have a situation where the more expensive and extravagant the life of a royal is reported to be, the more justification there is to intrude into their lives (and the more newspapers are sold). Take this one step further, if outrage is the easiest emotion to evoke online, how many clicks (money) are generated by stories about how much things cost?

To me, the idea that some is 'born to rule' or born to be "king" is quite frankly, silly. (I'm based in the UK; I'm not the only person who thinks this way). While I have zero respect for the idea of a monarch, titles or position, I do respect that they are real people with families who love them and they way they are (all) treated by the press is appalling.

And yet it was proven that she did have access to her passport as she travelled to Europe as well as the US when she was apparently “grounded”.

I can see that they will have extremely limited access going forward to senior members within the RF so as to minimise the opportunity of H & M to create more fodder for “their truth”. The talk after the death of QEII was that any discussions held between Harry would be witnessed and possibly recorded so he could no longer spread mistruths.

In the last episode, M reads the speech she wrote and delivered on her wedding day. She speaks in the third-person about herself. Nauseating. Like. Tell me you are full of yourself without telling me.

Haven't seen it but I hate it when people talk about themselves in the third-person.

I've only started to watch the first episode, so can't say anything about the series yet.

What I do think is likely fact: This situation has at least 3 sides to it.
Considering the media and public perceptions, probably more, and it's a royal mess. Pun intended.

Too much inconsistencies to trust anything they say
