It has me concerned that I will be afraid to wear it. Does anyone have insights? Also, can the facets be repolished? Where does one have that done?

Just wear it and love it! What a beautiful color...and it looks scrumptious on you!!

Nice size. How many carat is the stone?

Really luscious!!!

A garnet has a hardness of 7 to 7.5 on Moho scale so is suitable for frequent wear but probably not everyday.
Obviously is not good if the garnet “rubs up against” a diamond, sapphire, Aquamarine (ie gems with higher hardness) from a ring worn on the fingers either side. That will abraided the garnet.
Being a large size gem, bumping the garnet against stone benchtops etc can result in damage too. So wearing the ring doing everyday chores probably isn’t recommended either.
But yes, the garnet can be rebuffed by a gem cutter but if the abrasions aren’t visible without magnification, I wouldn’t bother, just treat the ring kindly.

It looks so nice on your finger.

Beautiful Halo ring. Garnet is durable but like any gemstone wears over time. I would not be too concerned with wear around the facet junctions. As time goes on the wear will become more pronounced which will interfere with the light return through the crown. This is usually after years of wear. Re-polishing is always an option. When that time comes a competent lapidary can dop your stone and repolish the crown with minimal loss.
