with oil price now over $60 a barrel, even low grade gas is like $2.49 per gal

in our area (northern. cal) i know is even worst in the S.F. bay area but a survey said ,gas need to hit $4 per gal to equal 1980 price (ajusted for inflation).consider yourself very lucky if you're still paying less than $2 per gal in your area.

I can get it as low as 1.80 ish

o.k.,ship me 500 gal of premium for now.

1.93 reg 2.03 mid 2.13 premium here in the midwest.
Add 50 cents for Chicago prices and subtract 10 cents for downstate prices.

I pay anywhere from $1.97/G to $2.20/G for 93 Octane. I haven''t been paying attention to regular and mid grade.

A couple of gas stations in my area have been having gas wars and price was down to $1.65 per gallon last night. Cars were lined up for blocks. I calculated the $3 savings for 15 gallons at $1.65 vs $1.85 per gallon was not worth waiting in line for an hour!

I never look at the price of gas.

I live in NYC. No car, no gas.
Go public transportation!!!

2.09 at Costco. Thank god we have a 4 cyl car. I just cringe at all those SUV owners who spend $75+ to fill their tanks.

I filled up yesterday. 1.85 for regular unleaded here in NC. One reason we opted for the minivan over the SUV was the gas prices. As I was driving off a big Hummer was pulling in. I was dying to know what it was going to cost to fill up that beast!!

I could never figure out why gas is so expensive in the SF Bay Area, especially since we have refineries right here in Martinez?

Same here

My SUV got 17mpg HWY! My Merc. is a 4 cyl. Kommpressor and it gets 27 city and 34 hwy. Instead of filling up two-three times a week I fill up once every two weeks or so. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

$1.99/gallon here in central Illinois. Chicago is way worse though, about $2.20. I always make sure to fill up here when I drive to see my relatives up in the city. Then I try mercilessly to "stretch the tank" and not fill up again until I go home! This never happens though

I''ve heard that the differences from state to state have to do with the amount of taxes and fees imposed. California must have a lot!

SF gas prices are on the rise! Sometimes I think it''s crazy. However, if you think about it...gas prices are pretty low. Taking into account inflation, gas prices are LOWER than in the 1980''s so I guess we shouldn''t be complaining.

I''m lucky though. I don''t spend $100-$150 in gas a month like my honey. I only fill up once every 3 weeks! =)

Me too, then I laugh when they have the nerve to complain about it!

I love my Civic...

funny,we're thinking about selling our honda civic because,it's a 4 cyl with no power

when we go to santa cruz on highway 17, i floor the gas pedal it tops out at 45mph and most cars just zoom pass us,thats why i like driving 8 cyl cars.i drive a 6 cyl toyota truck and my wife drives a V 8 bmw and both car avg 17.5 mpg intown/fwy combine.

We''ve taken the car to Los Angeles, and the Grand Canyon. Its fine for us, websailor drives in the slow lane anyway.

DF, so how much is your gas bill every time you fill up?

OMG, don't even get me started, I feel it everytime.
29.gif
We pay $2.59-$2.89 here in my town, and 45 miles away at costco is where I save the most at $2.39-$2.69/gal. Go figure.
20.gif
So Feydakin, like your wife, I get a thrill everytime I can save .30/gal when I go there. Doesn't always work out but hey, a girl's gotta try anyway.

Anyone want to discuss the price of a gallon of milk here?

i don''t know

because, every time when we drive by costco my wife fills it up and most of the time it''s only 1/2 tank.

One reason why NJ is good (not including that you don't pump it yourself, it's the law):

Regular $1.77
Unleaded $1.85
Premium $1.93

But don't ask about car insurance...

I almost cry everytime I fill up my lancruiser and drop $50 about every 5 days. Why did we get such a big SUV!!! It is great in the snow though.

Time for a Hybrid! My SIL has a honda hybrib and probably only fills it twice a month

I live in NM and its about 1.75 to 1.90. Lucky for me i drive a car that gets about 400 miles to a tank. And I am anal about filling up after I get to 1/4 tank.

Try a Toyota Prius. I think we filled our car (we had it as a loaner for 1.5 months when our car was totalled) about 3 times and drove CONSTANLY.... Average was about 53 miles per gallon... (regular!)

i remember when i started to drive (legally
31.gif
) in 1976 my friends always laugh at me because i was driving a 1975 camaro and it use unleaded gas,i was paying 69 cents per gal and they were paying 59 cents per gal for leaded gas because they were driving older cars.1975 cars was the first yr that require unleaded gas.i was working part time as janitor for $2.20 an hr. that was just enough gas money for each month.

mine is a toyota echo and everyone always thinks its a hybrid, but they are not. I sure love that little car though!
