Argh - whose ring was this? Lovely, large - ruby?

I just joined and was reading like crazy last night...someone''s avatar was a stunning red gemstone ring - the gem was set high off the band, and it just took my breath away! I thought "oh, I''ll remember the username" and now, of course, my brain is mush and I''m dying to see the rock again.

Any ideas whose it was?

Can you give anymore details about the ring or stone? Your description doesn''t ring any bells for me...

I''m learning the terminology still, but it was a large, oval stone and was set above the band - couldn''t see much of a stone setting per se, but you could only see the prongs on the edges of the stone...I *think* there were diamonds on the band but my head is kind of swimming from all the pretty sparklies and I might be misremembering that bit!

Dunno if that helps narrow it down at all? !

Oops on the oval - my addled brain can't take in so much fabulousity! I have a large ruby that I'm wanting to set - I don't know much about all this (yet) and I think I'll probably have it recut (refaceted? what do you say?) and I really love this setting! I'll try to get a decent photo of mine later and see what you all think - the cuts seem really dull, and while I have some paperwork with it, it all seems pretty innocuous so I may not have a very good stone, but ah well!

And speaking of that post, she talks about "RB diamonds"...what's RB? Is there a place that I can see all the abbreviations or will you all tolerate incessant questions from this newb?
