Hey ladies...
I have not been on in months but i am in need of your suggestions. My wedding is fast approaching (september 13th) and the only thing left on my list is music. I am having a brunch garden wedding at an inn in PA. there will be no dancing but i am looking for atmosphere music. Jack Johnson is my favorite...happy soothing music. throw your suggestions at me!!!

and thanks in advance!

We also had an inn wedding; a kind of 'less is more' affair. While we did not dance ourselves, we had a space cleared for dancing at the reception. So the music we chose for dinner and beyond was a mix of light jazz and standards. Easy to listen to, and easy to dance to. If you want a more energetic vibe, I'd throw some Motown or your favorite pop hits in there. For relaxation, try some soft classical. Compilation CDs are best to get the exact sound and mood, we found.

I'm assuming you're talking CDs and a sound system. If I was doing a brunch/garden party at an inn and having live music, I'd choose a string quartet, personally. Or a lovely classical guitarist.

we are having a seated dinner, no dancing, and we hired a jazz trio! they were actually VERY reasonable! are you looking to hire someone or do you just want a playlist for your ipod?

We had jazz standards playing during dinner at our wedding last July. It was nice and I loved listening to the music during dinner.

We are choosing music this weekend, so I''m of absolutely no help. Just wanted to tell you I was thinking about you the other day! How are you?!

We hired a guitarist/singer who played for 6 hours (ceremony and reception). He was fantastic and added so much to our day. He played everything from instrumental to James Taylor to Jimmy Buffett.

For PA music I''d add James Taylor, Carole King, Sarah McLachlan, Nora Jones, Alison Kraus, Dave Matthews Band

OHHH how did i forget this?? i was just at a wedding where the bride walked down the aisle to "love me tender" performed by norah jones!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was neat and so beautiful!!

I am GOOD! how are you??? i decided against the Jamaica wedding and found the cutest inn. we had to take a sunday due to the short notice but i am acutally ok with it!

so we are just renting a sound system. no DJ and i am thinking about just using an ipod. I am walking down to into the mystic and back to the hawaiian ''somewhere over the rainbow". i am just looking for reception/brunch music.

here is a link for where the wedding will be the cornwall inn
