Well! its me again!!!

i recently posted a topic about vegas and asked for your advice on places to go/ shows to see and thanks to all the input i got! i had an amazing time (though am having some issues with Luxor as they charged my CC for an extra night and now refuse to refund me!!! i''ve been emailing back and forth since then, but thats a whole different story)...anyhow! moving on...

I now need all ur wonderful advice on australia! I''ll be leaving on the 20th of December and will be there for christmas and new years! (yippeeeeee!)...these are the places we''re staying at, so alllll advice is welcome as this is the first time ever for both me and my hubby in aussie land...

at Gold Coast (our first stop) we''ll be staying at the Marriot Surfers Paradise Hotel
at Sydney will be staying at the Meriton World Tower Apartments

appreciate all ur comments! =)

MSB: you should''ve made like Russell Crowe and thrown a phone at them! How dare they! Hey, look on the bright side: at least they didn''t kick you out a night early...that happened to my friend when she went to Mexico for her honeymoon! No kidding, they actually made them leave a day early because someone made a mistake and booked their room to someone else while they were supposed to be in it!

As far as Australia, my MIL has been there, I will ask her if she knows any tips for you. Glad to hear you had an awesome time in Vegas!

do the tourist bus tour. worth the $$$ to get the lay of the land. visit the george jensen store! they also have a great museum. and then there is the harbor tours....one will take you right by mr crowe''s over the water home.

peace, movie zombie

Ooohh have u booked your accomodation yet?

Sheraton in the Gold Coast is very very nice. The Establishment Hotel in Sydney is superb too, plus they have a great restaurant, est, which u've got to try!

I've just spent part of the past week in Queensland for work, and went to Dreamworld on Saturday. If you're interested in amusement parks, make sure you go there. The Claw was my favorite ride, plus the tower of terror. The rollercoaster is completely overrated - long wait, 1 min ride. The bengal tiger presentation rocked.

Sea World in the gold coast is fantastic too. Gold Coast is more abt the beaches and the theme parks, so make the most of it!

Shopping is good in Oxford and Paddington in Sydney. Nice restaurants besides Est will be Otto's, and Longrain makes the most fabulous cocktails. Icebergs in Sydney is good for a bit of local celebrity spotting, if you're into that, but the service leaves much to be desired. Go on the Harbour bridge climb at sunset - you'll get a marvelous view and photos!

Come to Melbourne too! We've got more to offer than the Sydneysiders & queenslanders

ETA: You'll have to go on a cruise on the harbour in Sydney, and visit the opera house too!

On normal days, the rates for the sheraton hotel in GC and also Versace were excellent, but over x-mas and new years the prices were quadruple what they normally were...way out of my budget..though they do look magnificent! (next trip hopefully)

I second that. Our restaurants and shopping are 10 times better!

Hehehe..u guys are making me regret not adding Melbourne to the list of places to visit on this trip!! I guess I’ll just that as an excuse to convince my husband to go down to Australia for another visit in the near future ‘but honeeeeey, the ppl at PS say Melbourne has better foooooood!!’

The best thing about coming to Australia is the dollar rate. One Aussie dollar is about $0.74 US.

A few years back we went to the States when the rate was about $0.60 - that nearly sent us broke!

Just to let you know, tipping in Australia is not compulsory. I only tip a restaurant when I get good service (usually about 10%). Same for taxis - if I''ve enjoyed my trip and had a lovely conversation with the cabbie, then I tip.
