I was surprised to find there aren't many yellow sapphire posts on PS so I thought share photos my newest ring. It features a 1.5 carat precision cut yellow Australian sapphire in an 18 carat unplated white gold setting. The cut is called 'hearts and arrows' and it is just divine. The sapphire absolutely glows bright sunflower yellow in low light and lemon yellow in the sun.

Your yellow sapphire ring is beautiful! The setting is gorgeous and the sapphire really pops. I have a small yellow sapphire I use as a stacking ring with a pink sapphire ring. You are correct, yellow sapphires are not on here often. In fact other than chrysoberyl, I haven’t seen yellow much at all.

Oooh! I love love love the stone and the setting. Congrats with this great find.

Thank you both for the compliments. I've searched for years for an Australian yellow sapphire without green undertones. This one is an example of how beautiful Australian sapphires can be.

Yellow stones in general aren't featured here as much as they should be. I'm totally smitten with yellow now. I'd love to see more of it.

The ring is awesome!

Wowwww! What a beautiful stone - congrats!

I love your ring, chocolate pudding, and it looks beautiful on your graceful hand! Enjoy it in good health!

Wow! that's a really fabulous yellow sapphire! The color really pops.

Beautiful yellow Aussie sapphire, congrats.

Beautiful sapphire ring. A bit of sunshine to gaze upon.

Ohhh that saffy looks familiar! Your ring is absolutely gorgeous chocolatepudding!

Hey AJ! Is that one you cut? If so, impressed - its a gorgeous round.

Hi Minousbijoux, yes it is one I cut and it was completely untreated too. Glad you like it. You can see its green sapphire brother in my Avatar which resides in the U.S. somewhere.

Haha, love it! By now, your stones are no doubt in far flung locale around the World! So happy to know it.

One of the most intensely coloured yellow sapphire I have seen. Is the stone untreated?

I don't like what you did with it, I love what you did with it chocolatepudding!

yes it's not heated or treated in any way. Sapphires from the Willows mine in Australia are famous for their golden yellow colour.

Beautiful, all the more so for an unheated one. I knew Aussie greens sometimes look amazing, but this is the first time I see a yellow this pure. And the setting is very elegant.

I’m starting to love yellow sapphires even more, they are such a bright happy colour. I’m still working out what setting for my latest score.18769F54-B646-4227-B5D3-7167F7434333.jpeg0F35F8BD-F39F-4C97-9D9A-D1E4522947D6.jpeg

I got 5 yellow sapphires, my favorites are a lemon one (just under 6 carats) but a really weird cut - so deep - I’m not sure I can even set it.
The orange yellow round one, 8mm, just on 3 carats is stunning.
Both look to be unheated (I’m using a microscope as a complete beginner) as the crystal inclusions are intact shape.
The gems came from the deceased estate house auction (the Mr was a Retired jeweller). I got uncut Australian sapphires in the lot as well but I’m inclined to think the round one is Sri Lanken

I thought I recognized the master craftsmanship on this saff ;)2
