Hello all,

I was looking through my gem and jewelry box at pieces I purchased when I first started collecting. I thought now might be a good time to sell them to help fund newer projects. All are being sold at a discount. I'm just going to post basic info and a simple pic. If anyone's interested in something, just ask, and I will post whatever pix/vids you'd like. How do you guys usually send payment... PP friends and family via LT? If so, the figures below will be my best prices. Let us begin!

1. AGL certified untreated 2.69ct. asscher cut yellow sapphire... 7.70 x 7.61 x 4.95mm... great saturation of color and no windowing. Some faint pinpoint inclusions, but just about eye clean. $2,000

2. Another unheated Sri Lankan yellow sapphire... 1.79ct. oval 8.50 x 6.31 x 4.17mm... this one has a softer, pastel, lemon shade... nice cut with no windowing. Eye clean, except for one faint feather. Not yet certified, but if it tests as anything other than natural and untreated (it won't), money back and I also eat my new winter pom-pom hat. $1,000

3. Bought this picture perfect tanzanite from The Rare Gemstone Company. According to Antony, "this class of tanzanite belongs to the top 1% mined, and is very rarely seen in the market. Out of a thousand carats mined, literally 9 or 10 will be of this grade. These colors are extremely scarce, and their rarity makes them attractive to investors. They simply don't come better than this stone. This truly exceptional 2.90ct. cushion has it all. Its color is unparalleled... an extremely intense, almost electric blue in daylight, with an explosion of red flashes under incandescent light. The stone has a flawless clarity and was masterfully precision cut. Absolutely superb... a very rare and beautiful tanzanite." This purchase includes a certificate from LGL gem lab and a mining and geology report, which discusses the crystal's precise origins. A photo of the gem in its rough state prior to cutting is also included. The stone has been laser inscribed for identification and safety purposes. It measures 8.81 x 6.99 x 5.61mm. Heated, of course. $2,000

4. 1.09ct. oval red spinel mined in Luc Yen, Vietnam... 7.93 x 5.42 x 3.33mm... I purchased this spinel from JTV. It was part of the President's Collection. It has a medium-dark tone, but is NOT overly dark, with vivid saturation and a slight pink modifier. She's quite flashy. The stone is completely eye clean and very well cut (no window). I am including the JTV President's Collection certificate and GemWorld lab report with this purchase (which states the color as "vivid red"). $750

5. Here we have an XL 12.23ct. paraiba color untreated apatite... cushion measuring approximately 16 x 12mm... mined in Madagascar... also from JTV. Some fine rutile silk throughout... well cut. Vivid Caribbean greenish-blue color. $2,000

6. Spessartine/spessartite/mandarin garnet 4.31ct. round measuring 9.25mm. Perfect, vivid, pure orange, fanta shade... some sugar inclusions, but nothing that detracts from the stone's overall beauty or brilliance at eye level. They look way worse in this massively blown up photo than in person. Well-cut, no window. Mined in Tanzania. Also from JTV. $1,000

7. This is a 2.21ct. trillion cut purplish-pink spinel from Tanzania, measuring 8.71 x 7.48 x 5.11mm. It was a part of the JTV President's Collection. It comes with a certificate and GemWorld lab report. Eye clean for the most part with a couple of low-relief feathers of little consequence. The brilliance of this guy is spectacular... very well-cut. $1,250

That's it for loose stones for now... I'll list some rings next. Thanks for looking, everyone!!

Some of my first rings... aww. NONE has ever been worn beyond trying on, and are all in pristine condition.

All transactions would be through LT and payment via PP friends and family.

1. This is a 2.54ctw. oval Mahenge spinel and diamond ring (18k white gold). The spinel weighs 1.66ct. and measures 7.76 x 6.23 x 4.40mm. The diamond weight totals approximately .88ct. and there are 26 stones (round and princess). They are G-H color and SI1-SI2 clarity... all eye clean and sparkly. The ring is currently a size 6 and can be resized. I don't throw the term "neon" around lightly. This stone is as neon as they come. A super vivid reddish-pink with strong fluorescence... completely eye clean. Some might refer to this color spinel as a jedi. $5,000

2. Here we have a 4.08ctw. oval Burma red spinel and diamond ring (18k white gold). The spinel weighs 2.08ct. and measures 8.9 x 6.7 x 4.6mm. The diamond weight totals approximately 2ct. (round and baguettes). They are G-H color and VS1-2 clarity (baguettes) and SI1-SI2 clarity (rounds)... all eye clean and sparkly. The ring is currently a size 6.5. This guy is a bright strawberry red... medium tone and intense saturation... completely eye clean. Comfortable, flattering cigar-style band (4mm width in back). $3,000

redspinel.jpg

3. Another Mahenge pink spinel and diamond 18k white gold ring... 1.66ctw (1.24ct. spinel and .42ctw. diamonds - 8 rounds). The spinel is a precision step-cut princess measuring 6.01 x 5.99 x 3.77mm, with a vivid hot reddish-pink coloration. This guy is super vibrant, but just short of what I would consider "neon." Others might call it a neon or jedi. It fluoresces strongly under UV light. Completely eye clean or better. Diamonds are G-H color and VS1-2 clarity. Ring is currently a size 6. $2,000

pinkspinel3.jpg

pinkspinel4.jpg

4. This is a 4.24ctw. oval spessartite/spessartine/mandarin garnet and diamond ring (18k white gold). The garnet weighs approximately 3ct. and the round diamonds weigh approximately 1.24ctw (H-I color and SI1-2 clarity). The garnet measures approximately 9 x 7mm. My photo doesn't lie... this is a vibrant, pure, fanta orange color. The color is as good as it gets for this material... doesn't lean red, doesn't lean yellow, and there's certainly no brown. The stone has great clarity for this size and color... there are one or two minor, low-relief feathers upon close inspection, but nothing that detracts from the overall beauty of the stone. Mined in Namibia. Ring is currently a size 6. $2,500

5. Purchased from Ross-Simons (yes, when I was still a wee noob and shopping in jewelry stores!). If you're not familiar with them, they are a local family-owned fine jewelry store with a few locations on the east coast. This is a precision radiant cut yellow sapphire and diamond ring (14k white gold). The sapphire weighs approximately 1.37ct. and the diamonds weigh approximately .36ctw. (2 baguettes). The sapphire measures approximately 7 x 5mm. The diamonds measure about 3.8 x 2.3mm and are graded as F-G color and VS1-2 clarity. The sapphire is a well-saturated sunny yellow shade... completely eye clean... lots of sparkle from the precision cut. Mined in Sri Lanka and heat only. Currently a size 7. $1,500

I'm just going to keep trucking along until someone tells me I've reached my quota. :P2

Here's my very first ruby... ahh memories. Considering I was a young 20-something without the benefit of PS when I bought it, I think I did really well! This pear-shaped ruby has the perfect color, IMO. It was mined in Mozambique and is certified by AIGS as untreated. No purple, no pink, no orange, no brown... just pure red and strong fluorescence. It weighs 1.25ct. and measures 7.74 x 5.37 x 3.95mm. Really fantastic sparkle to this guy... sort of a crushed ice appearance. The clarity is pretty good... no distracting eye visible inclusions. The round diamonds weigh .91ctw. and are G color and VS1 clarity... they measure 4mm (2 stones) and 3.5mm (2 stones). The ring is currently a size 6 and 18k white gold. $7,000

This piece was also purchased from Ross-Simons. A 3.02ct. chubby oval Sri Lankan blue sapphire measuring 8.3 x 7.3 x 5.6mm. The diamonds weigh a total of 1.06ct, and are G color and VVS2 clarity. They measure 3mm (10 stones) and 1.3mm (6 stones on the shoulders). Stunning floral halo design... size 6 and 18k yellow gold. Beautiful medium-toned cornflower blue sapphire... a real sparkler in person. Heat only. $7,500

Never mind what I said before I totally forgot about all the other stones (face palm) its been a rough week.

AGL certified 2.11ct. tanzanite and 1.06ctw. diamond 18k white gold ring. My photos are terrible... sorry. This gem doesn't have any extinction or windowing in person... just lots of sparkle. It was graded by the AGL as being "vBV," so a vivid violetish-blue. Precision trillion cut. It measures 8.09 x 8.05 x 5.15mm. Heated, of course. There are 24 (2mm) round diamonds and 30 (1mm) round diamonds... H-I color and SI1-SI2 clarity. Size 6. $1,500

Huge 13.07ct. peach morganite and 1.15ctw. diamond 18k rose gold ring. Morganite measures approximately 16 x 12mm and is a cushion. Round diamonds measure approximately 1.5mm (70 stones), and are F-G color and VS1-2 clarity. Great saturation of color to this morganite... tremendous sparkle along with diamonds, and super bold presence on the finger. Morganite is always assumed to be heated. Ring size 6. $3,000

Yet another purchase from Ross-Simons... 3-stone princess cut diamond 14k white gold ring. Size 6.25. Diamonds are G color and VS2 clarity. The center stone measures approximately 3.75mm and the two side stones measure approximately 3.25mm. Total diamond weight is approximately .83ct. $2,000

Unheated Uruguayan amethyst and diamond 14k white gold ring... heart-shaped... amethyst weighs 2ct. and measures 9mm. Diamond weight totals 1.03ct. (32 rounds that measure 2mm each). G color and VS1-2 clarity. Size 6.25. Two things make Uruguayan amethyst special. One, the color is so pure and saturated out of the ground, that is does not require heat treatment like most purple quartz. Two, the stones are pleochroic (which means they show multiple colors within the stone without any unwanted color zoning). The body of the amethyst is a regal purple. But it shows distinct flashes of bright pink and blue. The stone has a deep tone and vivid saturation. The heart shape makes this gem just a bit more unique. This is a very weighty piece with a thick, substantial gold presence. The diamonds are large, white, and brilliant... they have fabulous sparkle in person. $1,500

Large Swiss blue topaz and diamond 18k white gold ring. Super vivid, precision cut topaz weighing approximately 5ct. and measuring approximately 13.5 x 11.5mm. Total diamond weight is .76ct. (32 stones measuring 1.7mm each). They are G-H in color and SI1-SI2 in clarity. The gold is not rodium plated to make it bright white, so it has a warm, candle lit glow to it, which works particularly well here. This piece is also from Ross-Simons. Size 6.25. Swiss blue topaz is always irradiated and heated. $750

Last ring for now... morganite and black diamond 14k rose gold ring. Oval peach morganite weighs approximately 3ct. and measures approximately 11 x 9mm. Total diamond weight is approximately .40ct. (30 stones measuring 1.3mm each). Size 6. There's something very romantic about the soft peach-pink of morganite set against a twinkling night sky of black diamonds. It's a rich, contrasting combination of colors. The warm rose gold is the perfect compliment to these stones. Morganite is always assumed to be heated... likewise for black diamonds. $500

And I think this will be it for now. Brand new/never worn .96ctw. diamond geometric flower 14k white and rose gold dangle earrings. Post/clutch back. Diamonds are G-H color and SI1-SI2 clarity. 120 full cut round diamonds (16 are 1.7mm and 104 are 1.1mm). Approximately 1-7/8" long and 11/16" wide... they both weigh about 5g, so not too heavy on the ear. $800

Is that when the new 1099 tax forms apply and it's not a hobby but income? Okay okay let's not get into this discussion.

Omggggg this whole thread was so gorgeous! Beautiful eye candy. I love your Ruby ring! Dang, I want to see your whole collection sometime!

Well, you have plenty of words....very beautiful words and accompanying images of your treasures :)

Thanks so much for saying that... I tend to be a bit self-conscious about my photos. But I am happy to take as many extras as anyone needs, and vids too. I appreciate you commenting!

That's really kind of you to say, my friend!

Thank you! Most of my gems (that I'm keeping) are still unset. But I definitely want to do a group photo once they're finished. I figured selling my old pieces could help move that process along.

Wish I had extra $5k laying around, that mahenge spinel ring would be mine:cry2::cry2::cry2: What a beautiful collection you have!! I'm speechless!

Thank you, love! That oval spinel ring is probably my favorite of the original fleet. The diamond shape of the mounting is so darn flattering on the finger. And it's neon to the max. No purple tones. I just prefer larger stones these days, and I have the 3.5ct. one now. Anyway, you have some beauties for sale too!! Good luck to us both! :mrgreen2:

Oh yeah, they hit me hard last year! I make and sell ornaments too, and last year I did particularly well. lol But I only had to pay on the profit. It's a hobby though, and I don't really do it for the extra cash. I just realllllllly love xmas.

Anyway, these guys will all be at a loss, so, if they sell, I won't owe... which I guess is a good and bad thing!!

if this is what you are culling to fund your new fleet i will need to make preperations for my own wellbeing at the unvail
