So, I appreciate all the advice I got on my silhouette necklace idea.

I *think* I am going with pearls now. The question is...what kind?

Refresher, this is my dress (and disclaimer, I HATE this pic of it):

Dress

it''s Ivory, with no brooch.

Now, I need some serious accessory help! This is my veil:

veil

Only the flower part will be a little smaller and with no feathers.

I am stuck on jewelry and would LOVE some PS input.

If I go with pearls, do I want one strand, double stand, triple strand? I am tempted to do the triple, but not sure. What do you guys think?

This wedding stuff makes me so indecisive! I would probably wear pearl studs and an antique watch as my only other accessories.

Sooo....pearls? If yes, what kind? If no, what would you suggest?

Also, has anyone worn pearls with an ivory dress? Will it look odd? I have a bunch of pearls, but actually no white Freshwaters (what I would order) so I can''t hold them up to try out.

Freshwaters come in different colors. I''d post this on the pearl board. I know that when I was worried about pearl colors matching my dress I sent a swatch to Pearl Paradise as well as a pic of me so they could see my skin tone and they gave me recommendations on hue.

Hi Gypsy! Thanks. Yeah, I thought about posting this on the pearl board, but what I am really curious about is the strand # issue and general style. I am pretty familiar with pearls, having been a member of the pearl forum when pearls were banned from PS. I was thinking about calling PP before I ordered, to see what my options would be in the necklaces I am considering. Good to know they worked with you, do you mind sharing which strand you wore? Were they FW?

I love triple strands, but I think with the veil, a double would look great! I don''t know though. I still love triples...

BTW, the brooch on that dress is so oddly placed! I don''t understand it! LOL, it''s like a saggy boob.

My thoughts EXACTLY...on both! The brooch wasn''t on there when I tried it on. It is REALLY ugly IRL and I already broke it...so no brooch for me!

I think pearls would look fab with that dress. Are you planning to do just pearls or a pearl/diamond set?

I can see I'm going to be in the minority -- as usual.

I'm not crazy about the idea of a strand or pearls with that dress/veil combination. I think it's because the fascinator veil looks very 40's-50's to me, and for that era I envision pearls being worn with a tailored suit, kinda like this:

I think what I'm trying to say is that a multiple-strand pearl necklace could be too stuffy for your dress, especially when paired with a birdcage veil.

Diva...thanks! BTW I LOVE your signature line! It made me LOL.

VR-thanks for the input. I am a little conflicted. What would you suggest instead? I am definitely still tossing around any ideas!

I love that veil!

FWIW, I'd wear smallish drop earrings and your antique watch/bracelet and skip the necklace (but I love a bare neck).

I'm thinking "less is more" since your dress is so stunning. Maybe a lariat or "Y" necklace? A necklace that drapes down the back? A lovely, sparkly pendant? Or if you really want pearls, a "tin cup" style necklace?

Here are a few sites that look promising:

BTW I agree with CDN... a bare neck can be very sexy too!

I think pearls would look gorgeous with that dress! Very classy and glamorous. Ditto on PP, I worked with Kirsten there on a strand of Freshadamas, and she was incredibly helpful! With that dress, I would love to see a graduated single, or a double with a beautiful clasp.

Thanks for the links, VR, I am definitely thinking about that kind of shape now.

CDN I adored your "less is more" accessory approach for sure! The only thing about the watch that I am hesitating about is that it is rose gold and citrine (or maybe garnet) and my flowers are blue/green hydrangeas, so idk if that would look bad?

Szh...do you know any good sources for pretty clasps? TBH I am not a fan of the ones on PP or TPO or the usual suspect sites. I am glad you think pearls would be a good choice.

I am thinking that none of the options will be *bad* so I can continue to mull it over. I have my alterations appointment Thursday, so maybe I will take a few pics of makeshift one, two, three, and no strand options!

Thanks Miscka! I borrowed it from a poster in my favorite diner. LOL!

Thinking about what CDN said and with your veil (which I

BTW), a bare neck would be very nice too! For your appointment on Thursday, are you going to try the veil with the dress without a necklace to see if you like it? You never know... And I don''t think the watch would look bad at all.

Thanks for the veil compliments!

Diva, it actually hasn''t arrived yet, so I won''t have it on Thursday

What about this option....a smaller, simpler high quality strand, sort of like this picture?

completely shameless bump for opinions...

I think nothing is more bridal than a strand of pearls. And, I think that a simple single strand is very vintage and will work perfectly with a birdcage veil. I wholeheartedly endorse a single strand!

Ditto! I second that! I think it''ll be lovely!

Thanks ladies!!!!

So funny that you would say that, because today I went for alterations, and tried on a single strand and it was soooo pretty. Now to decide on size/quality, etc!

I also have a couple of me in dress pics! No front views because the top was pinned all wonky and looked weird. But side and back!

Here is the side...

holy chit, I actually got that to work!!

Here is the back...

Sad dress is not steamed, clearly.

But, I am excited for it to be altered, and I get it back in a little over a week.

Anyway, thanks for the help guys! 90% sure a single strand it is!

Wow, Miscka, you look fabulous in that dress! I think a single pearl strand will look lovely.

Mishka - Your dress is gorgeous! You are right, the pictures don''t do it justice! I love the fabric and all the rouching!

Thank you so much, CDN and ilovesparkles!!

ilove, so glad I finally have a pic of it besides that heinous one on the website!
