CRANKY Dave...I think it''s time to let the whole Vegas thing go. This example was only used to support the fact that it doesn''t matter what reason the business professional has for not properly following through with his business contract, he has an obligation to treat the situation professionally. It was JUST AN EXAMPLE

Now you''re reading into whether I italicize a word or not, and what that means? That''s right. Of course you are. You know everything about everyone and exactly what they''re thinking, including reading between lines that aren''t there.

Correct, you only accused ONE person of tunnel vision, while claiming not to have it yourself. (hint hint: pot, you''re calling the kettle black).

I didn''t suggest he went to Vegas, I said I don''t care if he went to Vegas. The point is not why he could/not finish the job. The point is being honest and upfront. Did you get that? I''ve only said that in EVERY POST.

I''m done with you. Twist someone else''s words around.
Firegoddess, don''t you know that Crankydave is absolutely correct/right/virtueous/can see all sides of a story/the only one who has truly experienced being a jeweler/the only one who can relate to the suffering of losing a loved one? If you do not tealize this by now, please do & save yourself the heartburn of arguing with a brick.

You know, this was an interesting discussion about responsibilities of a jeweler (or any profession that provides services) when something goes wrong. The situations and responses described here certainly highlighted the need for communication and understanding on both sides of the contract.

What''s disheartening is to see what this thread has degenerated into. I read this site and very few others for the high level of professionalism and communication between consumers and vendors. I certainly don''t agree with everything posted, but LOVE that people can feel free to disagree without (generally) feeling attacked or belittled. This discussion, I think, has crossed that line from a spirited discussion into finger-pointing and accusations and statements made purely to make someone else feel bad. Does it *really* have to continue this way?
