OK, real quick as my FI is out getting us sandwiches.
He came home and we talked for awhile. I didn''t bring up the guest book...
Him: So, do you like it or not?
Me: Oh yeah, thanks honey. I appreciate you going out and getting it.
Him: Well, you can exchange it if you want.
Me. Oh no, this will work. Where did you find it?
Him: At Borders. They only had two. A white one and this one. I picked this one because it will look better years from now.
Me (suppressing urge to laugh): Oh, cool. What did the white one look like?
Him: It was just white and it said Guestbook on the front.
Me (hurting from not laughing). Ah. Well thanks honey. It will be displayed with that frame.
Him: I know. That''s why I laid them out side by side.
OMG, how funny is this. He picked it because he did think it was better...so he put *some* thought into it. I''m keeping it. I''ve been giggling like mad ever since this conversation. I was cleaning the kitchen and didn''t think he could hear, but he called out ''what are you cackling about?''
Seriously - no one will ever likely look at it again after the wedding. On the day of, some people will likely notice and say "oh, that''s different!", and others will be oblivious.
